52 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 11/20 KansaiBeerLvrs (42) Kyoto, Japan | January 1, 2013 As KyotoLefty said this is basically a chain of import food/liquor shops all over Japan(there’s one in Ikebukuro, a few in Osaka and one just opened in Kyoto’s Avanti too). Prices are a bit high but their glassware is about average in terms of price. they have a bunch of belgian beers, some English ones, a few Japanese craft & macros from around the world. If you see one stop in and see what they got but they aren’t worth a special trip or anything. | 46 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 8/20 KyotoLefty (350) Kyoto, Japan | December 10, 2011| Updated May 2, 2012 Don’t know if this really should have been added, but hell, since it was, I will add my two cents. This is part of a chain of stores all over Japan. Generally they have a pretty good selection of beers at reasonable prices. Sometimes you find amazing bargains, sometimes interesting stuff like 2004 Boon Framboise. I find that stores in the countryside seem to have a better selection of Japanese micros, usually stuff from the area. This one has about 10-15 J. micros, plus a couple dozen Belgians, and handfuls of British, German, and a bunch of macro crap. It’s a good place in the center of Kyoto, so if you are looking to see what’s available, you should stop in. Expect no one to be able to answer beer questions. | 68 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 worldbeertaste (73) , England | June 30, 2011| Updated May 2, 2012 This is a import grocery store. It has a huge selection of imported beers and ususally some Japanese Craft beers. The prices are very good for Kyoto and you can also get lots of imported food. |
