Visited this brewery with a group of friends in february. We got a great tour by a great guide. The location itself is very impressive and the tasting and adjacent cafe was great. A place that completely satisfied any expectation I had.

This is my favourite Trappist brewery, so I was extremely happy to visit this place. Unfortunately no chance for brewery tour. May be next time.

Unable to do the tour as you need to pre-book and also have a party of 20, the bar was great with ample seating available outside, good sized sample glasses allowing the ability to drive afterwards. Souvenir shop was a treat, picked up an 8 pack and things for the bar.

Visited meandering over endless dirtroads, the Trappist approximation of excellence. Can’t beat the setting, location, old & modernly spirited monastery with full-on guest/tasting room and restaurant. Jubilaris on draught was out, otherwise full selection. Hearty lunch and soup were nicely presented, tasty enough, yet NL-mercantily overpriced. Shop with quite a range of single, gift baskets, 6-packs, trappist cheeses incl. Mont des Cats, bread etc. Had to pass on the tour as more road was ahead, but mixed young & experienced service was attentive and quick enough not to have made us miss it. In De Vrede please visit and learn.

I visited during the summer, on a warm sunny day. A bit difficult to find if you follow the GPS so I recommend reading their instructions on their website for the last part of your journey. Very nice place, although crowded you could walk around and find a quiet spot to sit. The bar/restaurant seemed very professional and had something of a german beer garden. Near the entrance was the shop with products made at the monastery and all the La Trappe beers available, also no limit on their Oak Aged Batches.

Beautiful location in rural Brabant. Food is good and of course they have all the La Trappe beers. The guided tour is a recommendation.

La Trappe is a lovely old monastery in an idyllic rural setting only 3.3km from the centre of Tilburg – a short journey by bus (once an hour), an easy journey by bicycle or a walk of perhaps 45 minutes. There’s a nice café, a garden with tables and a separate shop. We visited as part of the RBESG 2013 and were treated to a short guided tour which took in the barrel ageing vaults – quite a privilege as these are not normally shown to the public. We were also offered bottles of three different batches (11, 12, 13 and 14) and asked our opinion of the last one, which was aged in cognac barrels, as there were as yet no notes about it.
I’ve only ever been to one other Trappist monastery (Westvleteren) and felt as if I was in a motorway service station café but La Trappe is different – it’s really special and to be recommended.

Visited on the last day of the RBESG 2013. Had a short look at the storage rooms in which they keep their wooden barrels and afterwards we tasted some of the oak-aged expressions, which are delicious. Quite nice to sit outside in the sun and try this stuff in these picturesque surroundings.

Visited during RBESG 2013. My previous two monastery bars were not really worth the trip. La Trappe was a lovely one. Not too far from the center of Tilburg. Beautiful monastery is clearly visible. Really beautiful garden to sit in, lots of families & locals. Very fair prices. The usual La Trappe beers are available & the more recent BA Quad’s. There is also a store with the regular offerings & a lot of souvenirs. Nice place to have drink at. If you are near it, you should check it out.

Visited during RBESG 2013. Nice place with beautiful surroundings. The monestary and the big gardens really adds to the experience. We were also given a short tour in the rooms where the oak aged beer is stored. Great experience.
