(Visited 06/2013): Lagunitas is in Petaluma on N McDowell in an industrial area, just a few minutes away from the Redwood Freeway. Parking lots adjacent to the buildings.

The Lagunitas complex consists of the brewery, beer garden, store and bar. Very laid back atmosphere, and the whole "420" thing permeates so to speak. The beer garden has communal benches and a stage, and the bar is relatively small with red walls, funky decor and wood, and a chalk board listing the available beers.

As for the beers there are around 20 house beers on draught plus a firkin. This included several staple beers like Censored, IPA and Gnarley Wine plus some unique offerings like Kriek, Gueuze, Brandy Barrel Aged Stout and SoCo Stout on my visit. The beers are all solid, and samplers are available.

Service at the bar was good. I was served by a few different bartenders and they all knew the beer and were friendly. Tours are available as well.

I did not have any food on this visit.

Overall this is a highly recommended place to visit north of San Francisco.

Probably the coolest beer-related place I visited on our trip to Northern California. The beer garden is amazing and they have multiple bars, both inside and out. Flights and pints are priced well and the food was also very delicious. Large selection, with a lot of brewery only type stuff. Service was great and the place was a lot of fun. I canít say enough about the outdoor space, as it was one of the coolest gardenís I have been to. If I lived anywhere near here, I would be a frequent visitor.

Pretty fun outdoor patio on a Friday night. It can get a little cool, but they turn the heaters on to keep everyone warm. Huge selection and the wait staff are all very friendly. Lots of dogs in this bar too, which is fun to watch. Live music, beer, dogs and outdoors sums this place up nicely.

A great outdoor/indoor combo. The outdoor seating can be a bit cool in the winter, but they enclose the patio and have several portable heaters. They have all of the year-round beers on tap and several experimental brews as well. The food is pretty good, but features standard gastropub selections. The free tour is pretty great too, although if your group is over about 15 people, it can be difficult to hear the tour guide inside parts of the brewery where the machinery is running.

I really enjoyed my visit to Lagunitas. There is certainly a bohemian feel. It offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Tons of their beers are available for tasting. I did a flight of 18 Lagunitas beers as my first round. Friendly atmosphere. Great time.

Loved the tour and brewery. Cool area where you get a free sampler platter, then go on the tour. After i sat had some peanuts and some brewery only taps.. very fun.

Visited mid week later afternoon on our way back to the bay area. Parking lot was busy/packed, but we were lucky enough to catch someone walking out to their car. Very active brewery as there was a couple of semi trucks pulling in either loading or unloading bottles/kegs/raw materials. Tap room is well marked and accessed by waling through a really cool and large outdoor open air but covered patio area with tables, seating, dirt and walkways. The tap room area is wide open to the back with a horseshoe shaped bar and a small stage in back. Off the side is a separate merchandise area. Couple of one off things, but draft list is mostly standard offerings. We ended up going on the 3pm tour which was different from any other brewery tours I have ever done as it starts out in a cool upstairs main cave/ski lodge/basement bar feeling loft with all kinds of weird random shit furnishing it. The guy giving the tour sounded as if he had been with Lagunitas for sometime and had some great stories of the history and stories about Tony. After sampling beers and hearing the story, you get a tour that isnít super in depth as far as brewing goes, but they take you through most of the facility. The whole experience was great and what I would expect from Lagunitas. Donít go here really for the beer per se since you can get most of this stuff all around, but go here to experience the quirkiness of it all.
