hmmmm, well after going to Russian River right before this, i have to say i was a bit let down. service was so-so however, it was uber busy the day i visited. the waitress screwed up my beer sampler and the beers i got were really bad. didnt seem fresh at all. very muddled and almost stale. food was bland however, the atmosphere and scenery (women) was amazing! i would go back here on a weekday to soak it all in more.

Beer garden is quite mess, bar is small and seems to be full always. Shop is one of the best I have ever seen. BTW Imperial Stout Ice Cream was horrible. Nevertheless, excellent place for local people.

Finally made this stop! Very nice tasting "room" with covered outdoor seating live music, a festive atmosphere. Inside bar and additional seating as well. Board split between the regulars and the specialties, and offer a four-beer taster flight for like $5. Good service, free pretzels and peanuts, and interesting beers. Whats not to like?

California place rating number 400.

Visited many times since RBSG 2009.

We were literally the first customers through the door at the new tasting room. The paint was still drying and they tapped the first cask for us. Iíve been back just as a quick stop to try some new beers and to enjoy the sun and company and music. The employees are all very nice and like to hang out and talk. They do live music on some days and they always have new beers to try. Their hoppy beers are always good but they do some other good stuff like the farmhouse gueuze (the blended funky saison). The food is pretty good but itís just snack/pub food. Awesome place and awesome stop on the way to/from Russian River.

Great brewery tour and tap room! Tap room serves several beer you wonít see outside of the brewery, which were wonderful. The entire "campus" is friendly and welcoming.

Stopped by on a Wed night. The live band was playing and the beer was flowing. Sixteen taps, one cask. I tried the cask and the Daytime. Both were good. The wife had the small sampler. We had a pretzel, which was fine but hardy enough to judge the food on. The service was prompt and good. The atmosphere was great. The outdoor area is excellent, it reminded me of the biergartens in Germany and Austria. Well worth going out of your way to visit.

I love this place, and Iím actually not even a huge fan of Lagunitas. All their beers seem to have a signature character that makes them all taste the same. With that said, you are almost guaranteed to always find some interesting barrel treatment, sour or rare one off in the taproom. The service has always been awesome. The atmosphere is VERY chill and laid back but extremely fun, especially out on the patio when thereís live music. They certainly do a great job of creating a beer oasis amidst a rather industrial setting. The food is actually pretty darn good too. Overall, this is a must stop for anyone visiting the Bay Area, even if you have to go out of your way (cross the San Rafael bridge)

(Visited 06/2013): Lagunitas is in Petaluma on N McDowell in an industrial area, just a few minutes away from the Redwood Freeway. Parking lots adjacent to the buildings.

The Lagunitas complex consists of the brewery, beer garden, store and bar. Very laid back atmosphere, and the whole "420" thing permeates so to speak. The beer garden has communal benches and a stage, and the bar is relatively small with red walls, funky decor and wood, and a chalk board listing the available beers.

As for the beers there are around 20 house beers on draught plus a firkin. This included several staple beers like Censored, IPA and Gnarley Wine plus some unique offerings like Kriek, Gueuze, Brandy Barrel Aged Stout and SoCo Stout on my visit. The beers are all solid, and samplers are available.

Service at the bar was good. I was served by a few different bartenders and they all knew the beer and were friendly. Tours are available as well.

I did not have any food on this visit.

Overall this is a highly recommended place to visit north of San Francisco.

Probably the coolest beer-related place I visited on our trip to Northern California. The beer garden is amazing and they have multiple bars, both inside and out. Flights and pints are priced well and the food was also very delicious. Large selection, with a lot of brewery only type stuff. Service was great and the place was a lot of fun. I canít say enough about the outdoor space, as it was one of the coolest gardenís I have been to. If I lived anywhere near here, I would be a frequent visitor.

Pretty fun outdoor patio on a Friday night. It can get a little cool, but they turn the heaters on to keep everyone warm. Huge selection and the wait staff are all very friendly. Lots of dogs in this bar too, which is fun to watch. Live music, beer, dogs and outdoors sums this place up nicely.

A great outdoor/indoor combo. The outdoor seating can be a bit cool in the winter, but they enclose the patio and have several portable heaters. They have all of the year-round beers on tap and several experimental brews as well. The food is pretty good, but features standard gastropub selections. The free tour is pretty great too, although if your group is over about 15 people, it can be difficult to hear the tour guide inside parts of the brewery where the machinery is running.
