Full score pŚ overall for denne puben som var hitchcock sin favoritt, og som er et must for alle beer hunters med sans for den engelske pubtradisjon. Og Fullers fra hŚndpumpe smaker nesten alltid sublimt.

Even before you get into this pub the setting makes it really atmospheric. The pub is sandwiched amongst dense buildings in the narrow cobble streets of old London town. Thereís even an adjoining public alleyway running underneath the pubs upper level. Inside it not a disappointment and it is a well kept traditionally English pub which is densely packed with furniture and patrons given the lacks of space over two floors. Thereís no outside area but on a busy night the patrons will spill out on to the streets which are barely used by vehicles in the evening. Fullers ales are served.

I have heard about this place and found my way through a alley with great expectations. Went in and thought it was closed first, since the pub was almost empty (I was early though). Ordered a pint from a nice barman who offered my tastings from 5 hand pumps, and sat down in a old historic pub. All seemed to be nice at that point. Then I was smelling a rather strange smell as earlier reviewers has pointed out. I went a bit disappointed.

The oldest tavern in Covent Garden. Itís a must see and try something local, maybe a seasonal, but looks pretty crappy and smells awful inside. But still acceptable for real beer lover :) Some restoration needed. Service is poor, but thatís UK, you have to take care for yourself.

Itís as old as it looks. Good beer and good food. Go upstairs (carefully) and you may find a place to sit.

In my opinion very over rated, beer is reasonable but not a great choice, pub is full of history and DIRT ! Its a shame, the staff are friendly enough and they do their best but i feel this could be so much better with some tlc.

Tucked away off Covent Garden. Lovely, historic but always impossibly crowded in my experience. Never stayed for more than one because I got sick of standing room only and being jostled by people squeezing through. Shame itís so crowded because it would be a great place to park up for a session but thatís London for you.

Busy location that sees a lot of traffic throughout the day. Not the most exciting range of beer - Hophead was nice but the rest were very ordinary beers. The staff are friendly and attentive though and not a bad pub to go for a pint.
