Laurelwood is housed in a very modern building just off of I-84. Service is quite good, the beer is good aswell. It is true that this is more family oriented, so maybe a good place to go if you have kids with you. Don't know about the food.

Sadly defunct, this was a great place to grab a brew and some eats, with the only downfall being that it was a little TOO kid friendly. Had a nice sampler and good range of beers here, as well as a very tasty stromboli.

The menu is now pizza and such, done reasonably well. Unless you like 9 billion children running around donít visit on a Saturday mid afternoon, the birthday and soccer/baseball after parties are overwhelming. They now close a little early too but the beer is delicious and the happy hour menu is reasonably priced. The seasonal beer selection is different than the 52nd location, and they also have a different Amber Ale you canít get at 52nd.

Late on a Sunday night this place was very quiet. Service was good, burger was huge, and the garlic fries were excellent. Lots of beers on tap, and all were good, and one, the Workhorse IPA was outstanding.

A huge place, very mordernly decorated, but nothing fancy. Had 11 beers on draft when I visited. The service was nice and the bar menu satisfied our hunger at a reasonable price.

Wow this place was full of kids. They had a play area for the kids and that was brimming with kids and then kids running all over the place. Was I at Chuck E Cheeses? But I am glad because I had my kid with us also. We had a great time the service was good and they played to the kids when we needed it for the food. The beers are very good also and one of the first in America to be all Organic with the beers. I had a great sampler of beers and I loved the Green Elephant IPA. The dark beers where also very good. This is a must stop also for your Portland stops. Yes there are many to hit in Portland.

Noise level wasnít bad, even though it was full of children and has a working brewery on site. Food was better and more interesting than most brewpubs. They have excellent desserts that go well with their stout. Service knows qhat they are about.

Living in the Hollywood neighborhood where this fine brewpub is located, it is easy for me to say this, go after 9pm. Unless you are a family, the ambiance caters towards kids running around before then. Also, "Happy Hour" special kick in then as well and the staff are more relaxed and chatty. A fairly expansive menu with great burgers as well as those searching for more expensive fair of steaks and such. Try the Cathyís Special burger with a fried egg on it and a little hot sauce.

Great place to hang bad I live in Houston. Beer was wonderful, as was the weather.....75 degrees just sitting on the deck under the big tree. Food looked fantastic, but has just had lunch. Loved the sampler kit....9 beer tasters for only $5 or was great.

One of the best brew pubs in Portland (if not the best)! And thatís saying a whole lot in a city with as many fine brew pubs as Portland! First of all, the beer is great. That is why the brewer has won many awards from GABF to World Beer Cup. Second, the food is very good. Pub grub and a notch above pub grub food is on the menu. They also have great desserts. One of the great thing about Laurelwood is the late night happy hour. Cheep food on a special HH menu and discounts on award winning beer. (and usually no kids running around that late either). How can you go wrong! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable but are a little lax on service so be prepared to wait.

About two blocks from my hotel. Loads of kids running about when I was there, but they didnít really seem all that obnoxious. Sat at the bar, the bartender was very friendly, giving us tips about the area, where there was good music playing and where there were other bars in the area. I enjoyed all of the beers here, and the patrons were also very friendly. Definitely worth checking out.
