I had the Houblon on the hand pump, excellent fruity IPA. One of the Montreal brewpubs you must visit.

Bel endroit, un peu taverne. Belle séllection de 8 bières en fût et une en cask. Les bières sont bonnes. Intéressant.

Went to this place on a pub crawl right after Amere a Boire. It’s definitely better than the latter, but the ambiance is a little weird in this place. Very divish with metal tables and chairs. Beer is ok, but nothing out of this world. They don’t do sample trays or anything - just pints. They only had five beers on tap when I was there, several had run out on a Saturday night.

Well it depends if you like the 1970s I guess. Having had to live through them and recalling the relief when they ended, I have no desire to return there. There are some top rate imports but only at a price that excludes serious consideration. A few of the home brews need more work.

Stopped by in the afternoon for a sampler of all tap beers. Service was very attentive and the prices very reasonable for the tap beers. Also available are a number of new imports which are extremely steeply priced. Worth a stop, but the beers are nothing overly interesting.

April 2012. A dark bar that you can get far too comfortable in, assuming you find a seat. While we were there, we tried a triple that had been aged in Jack Daniels barrels. This beer... easily is in my top 5 list. It was delightful from start to finish! There are about 7 beers on tap, most of them brewed by them, but one or two from a sister/local brewery. A must-stop for the craft beer drinker in Montreal.

Had to visit when I heard it was the first brewpub in town. 7 beers on tap, I had the cask ale which was good. Very interesting look to the place. We also had a saision that was mediocre.

Really old tavern that has recently doubled its size while keeping the good vibe of the old place. Can get very dark at night to sample beer but the athmosphere is really great. Music is often really good too with a wide range selection wich I do appreciate. Service is really good if you know the bartender, but can be somteimes atrocious when the bartender is more drunk than the people sitting in front of his/her bar. Their beer selection is quite good, really good selection of imports that focuses more on quality than quantity. Often seen there are DeMolen rarities, Struise brouwers, Cantillon, 3 Fonteinen, The Bruery, Hornbeer and many more interesting stuff. Food is not the highlight here but their cheddar grill cheese is totally sufficient to stuff your belly for another round of beer. Overall, a must in MTL with DDC, Brouhaha and Benelux, and defenitely the best brewpub in town to party in.

Vieille taverne comme je les aime. Excellent service ce jour là. 8 fûts et plusieurs bouteilles. Je vais devoir y aller lors de ma prochaine visite.

Great ambiance, nice people, and an incredible array of beers, lots of different styles and a lot of new stuff every time I go there.
