In a state of quasi-culture shock, we settled into a patio table and watch the crowds fly. Hookers and strippers at the gentlemen’s club nearby, university protesters, and dog-tethered burnouts smoking copious pot on the streets. What better environment to order a few half-pints off the chalkboard and carouse through Quebec’s better draft offerings? Our waitress was the perfect nighttime patio-sitting attendant, keen and correct, but never pushy. The beers were always right, came at the right temp in tulips, and had a fair price on them (for Canada). I could have done without all the smoking, but this is Canada and apparently smoking is still cool here. Great selection.

Very nice brew pub on St. Denis in Montreal. 40 draft selections of their own brewing, plus a Beer Bible full of bottles. Claims of over 800 beers in house, but given the dilapidated condition of their Beer Bible, I’d fear most of these beers are past their best before dates and so stayed to their own drafts. Food was decent for a pub. The beer flights came in an amazing beer tower that I haven’t seen elsewhere. Service was slightly above average. I would definitely hit this place again on my next vist to Montreal.

Tucked away and squeezed between one of the many cafes, bars and restaurants on the lively Rue Saint-Denis, the cozy brewpub is a good place to enjoy an evening beer and absorb the relaxed atmosphere of the city. The more than forty taps feature own produce - quite reasonable - and some well-known Belgian classics. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. I did not try the food, perhaps some other day. Definitely recommendable.

Nice selection of beers. About 1/3 their own brews, 1/3 Beau’s (why so much Beau’s?) and 1/3 misc. Tried 5 of their own brews, which were pretty good. Pretty good lunch, but nothing mind-blowing. Service was slow, and once they forgot to bring my drink. Still a good place I’d come back to, for the beer selection.

It was the start of their week long sour beer fest so it made for some interesting beers to try. There were twenty house brews available which is nothing to sneeze at, however, the overall quality could be argued. The remaining taps from a number of Quebec breweries and Belgium. The venue is comfortable inside, a little dark perhaps but alternatively there’s a nice patio out front if it’s not too busy to grab a table. The bartender was friendly and seemed knowledgeable and happy to explain the beers. Food is average pub fare.

Nice place, waiters were very helpful. Food was more than decent. Selection was one of the best I’ve seen in Quebec. Prices were more than fair. I’m definitely going back on my next trip to Montreal.

Kind of a disappointment, place is pretty crowded, loud music, large sports TV screens, narrow seating, slow service. Tap list is quite impressive but the electronic menu was having issues when I visited. Tried 3 of the house brews which were quite mediocre. Good location but unimpressed so far, might give it another chance.

This place was kind of a trip. It’s a decent sized place, but it is packed full of so many tables and seats that it feels tiny. At night, it’s also quite dark inside. A weird vibe to it. Kind of like a 1990s chain restaurant mixed with a bar mixed with a brewpub.
The beer list here is exceptional, I have to say. They have about 20 of their own beers as well as another 20-something of the beers from other breweries from all over the world. The house beers were not very good, including a number that were very poor.
Despite the beer quality, they do taster flights of everything at just a few bucks per taster pour. They typically do flights of five, but if you want 20 tasters at once they’ll do that as well.
Other than the beer quality and the cramped feel, I found the service to be a little slow, but I don’t really blame the waiter for that. He was busting his ass and had a large number of tables he was responsible for.

Multiple visit This brewpub is well located downtown Montréal (near the Berry-Uqam station). The place was comfortable and we where able to get 4 oz tasters, which is a good format to try their beers. Very good selection (46 taps), mostly of their beers but with a couple guest tap including some good foreign beers (BFM, De Molen, etc.). Huge bottle listing; nothing too fancy, but some nice bottles. Price are ok for the area. First time I went their, I didn’t even ordered a beer because if was full and noisy, but it seems to be a nice place to go early in the afternoon when it’s not too crowded. It’s really a beautiful place now with the renovations they made. If only their own beers could be better, it would be one of the best place to go in Montréal.
