Took a run out to Rouyn Noranda this weekend, and I was not disapointed! The bar is very well decorated it looks quite nice. They had a nice little area for some live music, and when i got there about 10 people were huddled around the tv watching the habs play. The service was prompt and very very friendly, and was eager to please. The prices were very reasonable, and the beers are excellent! The beers are very well made, and loaded with flavor. They even had a great beer on cask that was brewed the day before! The only thing i was a little disappointed about was the fact that they did not have much of a patio. They only has two little tables outside. NO big dea, i just really like being outside. Overall a GREAT little brewpub in a community that really needed something like this.

This brand new brewpub in far northwestern Quebec has a classy yet casual atmosphere and will surely attract lots of marginal university and Cégep students. Because of its quite modest size (50-60 people tops), I don’t see them running into trouble any time soon. We were there at 3pm (their website said they opened at 1pm, but that was not the case!) and the place filled up pretty quickly with passerbys and some who already seemed to have adopted the pub. Amazingly enough, half the people there were trying samplers of the 4 brews available and the others were drinking pints of the Stout or Irish Red. The owners really seem to have tapped into a market that was not taken much in this town. The 4 beers I had were all very professional; flavorful and very drinkable. You can tell the brewer knows what he’s doing. I expect very good things to come from this tiny brewpub.
