This place is great! Hard to find Drakeís, Pizza Port and Allegash, and on occasion they do get AleSmithís! Russian River, Marin and Moylanís of course all make appearances here, as well as the usual friends from around the country. The people there are great too! If you meet the Patriarch of Ledgerís Liquors, he can tell you about the history of the place (it was one of the first liquor licenses in CA after prohibition) and why they have a huge propeller on the wall.

This place just keeps getting better and better. Good selection of micros and foreign beers. The list of what they have just keeps getting larger and better. Got a few countries that (Montenegro and Croatia) I had not had before.

I ended up here because it was on the list of retailers that carried Russian River brews and I was very impressed by the selection of microbrews. If youíre OK with the layers of dust on everything and a somewhat disorganized beer section, this is a great place to hunt for rare brews. This is the first place in the Bay Area where Iíve been able to find AleSmith Beer and some of the less common Stone beers. Great selection of German and Belgian beer as well. Definitely the place to go for craft beer in Berkeley.

My favorite neighborhood beer store. Staff is knowledgeable and very, very helpful. They will go out of their way to get you matched with the right beer/wine/liquor. Selection is always outstanding. Mind you, they donít have the best selection of beer in the bay, but pretty damn close. They work hard to get the best new releases and keep abreast of the craft brew movement, but with the mixed clientele from the surrounding South Berkeley area I am sure this canít be an entirely profitable venture. Prices are good. Iíve noticed that bombers, 750 ml bottles and other singles are .25 to .50 cheaper than, say, Whole Foods. Which may not be much, but it shows that they arenít trying to gouge the consumer.

It is legendary. I drive 70 miles every 3 or 4 months. I usually find 15 to 20 excellent ales that I have never had before. Long may this continue.

Ledgerís is a must-go place for me whenever I visit friends in Berkeley. Their selection is really quite amazing, with 3 aisles of unrefrigerated beer shelves along with almost a full wall of beer in cooler windows. I always find a big selection of Hair of the Dog, Drakeís, and Moylanís, along with lots of other Norcal micros. They usually have some Russian River too. San Diego area beers often have a hard time getting up here to Norcal but the owners have been known to travel down there and bring beer back for resale. Port Brewing and Stone are usually on the shelves, but I havenít seen any AleSmith here. Belgians are also well-accounted for. Plenty of Cantillon, Fantome, Drie Fonteinen, and St Bernardus, as well as some more obscure stuff. The unrefrigerated shelves are disorganized and a delight to search through for hidden gems. Service is good. If the owners are there you can strike up a good beer conversation because they know their stuff. Friendly and helpful. Prices are a bit higher than aver

Great selection. Friendly service. This is a large convenience store, not well organized but with a number of interesting beers at good prices. I was stoked to find a case of Jever on the cheap and they had 3 different types of Polish bison grass vodka as well.

This is your typical, all in one liquor store with the best and biggest import & craft brew section I have ever seen. Ed behind the counter was knowledgeable and suggested one that I had never heard of, and it was a 4.5 rating for me. I could spend hours here!

Made a quick stop in for first time. Place had a grungy feel. Had a nice selection of Belgium beers and American. Nice mixture of cold and shelved beers. Found some old bottles.

Best selection in the Bay Area, although not in the same realm as a Hi-Time Wine, Johnís Marketplace, Bottleworks, etc. Very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Nice place. I love when liquor stores have their own dedicated parking lots. Lots of shelves, especially for liquor. I get the feeling that spirits are the star here. Felt a little understocked on NorCal items (Lag, Moylans, missing a Drakes or two, Bear Republic, etc.). But they sure did have 3/4 Russian River Barrel Aged series just laying around like paperweights.
