It was a cold and wet (typically Dutch) day when we foudn Lemmy’s biefcafe, but we found a great selection of beers, a good server, and even a fake fire blazing on the big screen TV in the back. It didn’t hurt that David Bowie was playing in the background either...
More local beers available on tap than in the past (Maximus, Jopen, etc) plus a range of Spanish bottles for some reason. Worth stopping off here and at the brouwhuis if in the area.

The classic Leiden beer bar has improved a little over the years with the addition now of a Maximus tap and other bottles beyond the obvious Belgian stuff. It’s a small and pretty dark place with a small (mostly smoking) outside are and some decent music playing. Certainly worth a quick visit when in Leiden.

Nice small bar that specializes in beers and wiskeys. Can be quite crowded but it’s always a good place to go with friends. Bottles are mostly from a Belgian selection plus some Dutch and random origin bottles; around 80 in total I think. They recently started carrying some more special ones like Flying Dog and 2-3 De Molen beers. Prices are very reasonable. Taps often change and some interesting selections come by but would be good to have more non Belgian offerings. Owner is very friendly. Gezellig, and improving, but not necessarily the best place to experience craft beer.
Pub with hte biggest beer selection in Leiden, popular with all sorts of people. The bottle list is okay, but the ever changing tap list is what attracts me most. Can be a bit crowded and noisy at times.
Visited on a Sunday evening, nice small beer cafe quite close to Leiden central station. Decen beer selection, the beer of the month was a Rogue beer on tap plus a nice selection of the classic bottles. Prices are quite decent as well, especially for stuff you’d expect to be expensive. Staff was friendly. Would return.
Nice small cosy bar, large bottle selection comprising the usual above average Belgians, good to see a few Dutch beers on also including De Molen, Texels, Jopen. Around 10 taps pouring a mixture of decent and not so decent ( Heineken) beers also. Friendly staff and probably the best place in Leiden. Around 10 mins from the station.
Tucked away in the older looking part of residential Leiden, this quaint woody bar has a good atmosphere and both locals and staff were friendly. A reasonable choice of beers provided us with a just 3 ticks. Nice rock star photos, including Lemmy natch! Liked this place but it’s only somewhere to go if you are in Leiden, not a Dutch destination of choice.
