Only for tickers. The beers suck (one is as muddy as glue), the ambiance is fake, only good points are the 2 nice Belgian girls sitting in the corner...

Updated 7/30/07. There is definite place in the beer world for the light, refreshing quaffers that this brewpub puts out. Unfortunately, they were all in poor condition when I visited. I can think of at least a dozen better places to drink beer in the city center. Any other tourist trap on the Grand Place is at least going to have one or two "world classic" Trappists for you. But if you simply must pop in here and tick off a few more beers, then so be it. That’s what I did, and in retrospect I feel a bit dirty about it. On the bright side: There was a cheap happy hour--half-liter glasses for 2.50 euro I think, with a free board of ham and cheese cubes. Aw Brasseurs, I can’t stay mad at you.

Accidentally found this place after visiting the Bier Tempel. Again, great location in the Brussels area. They were out of the bruin and amber, but the blond was very good and the kriek and picon were pretty decent as well. Great atomsphere, but I can see this place getting crowded real quick. This is a must stop if you’re in the area.

In the heart of Brussels grand place. The buildings that surround it were ellegant and this place fit in. Although the selection was slim this day because the bruin and amber were not ready for drinking yet. The service was great and the atmosphere was nice. I will be back to try more on my next visit to Brussels.

Strategically located right by the Brussel’s Grand Place. Cold pub-chain type of atmosphere. Loud “hip” music playing for the clientele consisting mainly of drunk young tourists who don’t know any better than macro beers. I knew it would be bad but I can’t walk in front of a brewpub and not make a pitstop no matter how bad it is. Stressed-out staff with matching shirts running all over the place to serve this rather large multi-floor pub. 3 beers on tap, all bad. Make the 3 Brasseurs pub franchise seem like beer heaven. To be avoided. But you won’t. You cannot visit Brussels Grand Place without walking in front of this place. You’ll make a pitstop too. Can’t say you haven’t been warned.

I must have walked past this place a half dozen times, and it was only on the last night in Brussels, while out getting candy and souvenirs and all that stuff, that I saw it was a brewery. It’s packed in with all of the other restaurants and bars, so it’s easy to ignore while walking around. Well, the beer isn’t so great - mediocre recipes, but at least the presentation was nice, although a little gimmicky given the location. A beer sampler (about 5-6oz each of three) came with a cheese, meat and cracker plate. Rock on. Like I said, beer quality was lacking, but if you’re there in the Grote Markt you might as well drop in and try them.

Arrived there at opening, only client and had to wait for staff for their attention. Rather cold service, impersonal. The place is quite nice, full of wood, brass, and visible fermentors. Beer was under par for Brussels. 4 samples for 6.80 euros. Attrape tourist.
