Recently had some business in Santa Monica and had a free evening in the area. Searched for a great place to visit and from the reviews it was a toss up between this place and The Daily Pint. I wish I had time for both...but no disappointmant whatsover with The Library. I loved the decor and layout of the place. The people that worked there were great the night I went...a Monday no less. The beer selection was excellent. This is a gastropub with some really great food...so come hungry as well as thristy! I’ll catch the other place next time...but I highly recommend The Library Alehouse as a must stop when in the area.

Stopped in on a rainy November evening with my fam, and really enjoyed the cozy pub atmosphere, conviviality, and most of all the righteous selection. Service a total home run, not much more to say than that they’re awesome. Killer selection of mostly Cali craft, but that struck me as just fine. Tried some great hoppy stuff that was new to me, and enjoyed a generous snifter of the Stone Mint Choc stout. Great place, and I actually preferred the atmosphere to FO even if the selection isn’t quite on that level.

Dropped into Library on the recommendation of some fellow beer lovers. Very glad I followed their words to this awesome stop on Main St. First of all - service was excellent. Alex, the beer guru and a Certified Cicerone, took great care of my cousin and me. He explained beers I hadn’t tried and was extremely knowledgeable (to a degree I rarely witness, even from Cicerone level beer snobs) about his bar’s offerings AND about beer in general. Second - the list they have is really nice, but be sure to ask what they have that they don’t have available yet. Alex brought out some primo stuff that was set for a stay on the list, but that there wasn’t room to put on there. We iced it down and drank very well thanks to his sharing of hidden offerings. The food is better than average and is reasonable in price. Definitely recommend a burger as they’re filling and nicely designed.

Good selection of craft brews, a little pricey, but overall a solid option if you are in the area

A rather small and crowded bar in Santa Monica with a small, yet thoughtful tap and bottle selection. I arrived just before a shift change, so my service was spotty. I was quite pleased with the Happy Hour prices of $4 pints. You have to sit at the bar unless you are ordering food, and then you can score a table, provided one of the few are available.

Nice spot for some craft brews in Santa Monica. Nice patio out back. Rate bottles are wildly overpriced, but drafts aren’t too bad.

Pretty nice place on main ave. went at a slow time, had ok service. I really like being able to get half pints so I can sample more beers.

Been here once for a couple of hours. I will be back. The bartender was friendly, the other patrons were friendly. I always know the vibe of the place is good when I ask someone about the beer they are drinking and they offer me a sip. The place has 29 taps, and what I like is that I can go to their website and they have an up to date tap list. They also offer flights of five beers for ten bucks with special beers, costing a little extra. The happy hour price for food was excellent and I got a big plate of nachos for around $5 and about 8 chicken wings for about $4.

One of the better beer bars I have visited. A great selection including many local CA brews, including brand new breweries’ offerings. Food is very good, good service. My local hangout when in Santa Monica.
