We were having dinner nearby and I overheard the two guys next to me talking to our bartender about a Sour event for SF beer week. Naturally, I asked where, and turns out they were the owner and manager of Beer Baron.
We immediately walked over to Beer Baron after finishing up dinner and though we only were able to stay for one round, it is definitely a gem.
The list was heavy on FW (2 years of Sucaba, 2 years of Anniversary, etc) after a recent tap takeover, but there are 30 taps, and the majority were stuff I have rarely or never seen on.
A nicely re-modeled ex-divey-bar, barn wood walls and barrels. Nicely soft-lit, great service, a good amount of seating for a pretty small joint. Huge wall of Whiskey (100+ different varieites) if that’s your thing.
Definitely a place I’ll return to

Great location, right at the corner of First and Livermore, next to a fountain and at the end of the strip. Inside was kind of depressing on a sunny and warm Sunday afternoon but I could see how this might be fun at night. We were literally the only customers in there. The bartender was sitting at the bar reading a newspaper when we walked in but was polite and handed us a menu. The tap list wasn’t bad at all. Naturally there were some locals on there like Altamont and Drakes as well as some bigger California names like Lagunitas and Bruery. I also spotted some Dogfish Head 90 Minute that I wasn’t about to take a chance on. Pretty good selection over all, just wasn’t particularly in the mood to sit in a dark bar in the middle of the afternoon. I didn’t take a look at the food, and I’m not sure they even serve food at all. Prices were a bit high but not out of control. I’ll stop back in at some point in the not too distant future (probably February).

his place is owned and ran by Harpreet and family of the famous Perry’s Liquors down the street. Between these two places, you have all you can handle when it comes to great beer.

Since re opening, this place is a must. Incredible ambiance, great beers on tap, knowledgable staff and some nice mixed drinks too, if that’s your poison.

Dark dive bar atmosphere, and a long bar. Great selection, and the staff is learning a lot about the new 20+ taps.

As a Livermore resident, I want to say thank you for opening a great craft beer bar in my hometown! This place is owned and ran by Harpreet and family of the famous Perry’s Liquors down the street. Between these two places, you have all you can handle when it comes to great beer. The location is superb being in the heart of a revitalized Livermore downtown. Lots of restaurants nearby and some entertainment. The bar itself needs some work. It used to be pretty much a dive bar with pool tables, a juke box, BMC signs everywhere and ugly color schemes. They’ve already removed the BMC signs and pool tables to be replaced with more seating. I really hope they update the interior, but we’ll see. I especially hate the giant mirror above the bar. Anyway, the beer selection is really good. They have about 25 taps with some local stuff and Belgians. Considering their connections with distributors from the bottle shop, I imagine they will always have access to some great beers. The service has been steadily improving since they opened about a month ago. I love, love, love that they do sample sizes of everything on tap. A tickers dream come true. Prices are about average for the area. If you happen to find yourself in Livermore, make sure you stop in.
