Their selection of local, US and Imports is among the best I’ve seen in the US. Tons of great beers including a few rarer things that always seem to sell out immediately when they land on shelves in NYC or other major metro areas. The staff was extremely helpful - directing me towards some great things I had missed & providing great recommendations of alternatives when something I wanted wasn’t on the shelves. My only complaint is that they organize beer by style, not brewer. This makes it a bit more difficult to do something like locate all the Buckeye beers that they have in stock. Still, a great, great store & one that I’ll certainly be back to. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 Advocate_Ames (27) Pennsylvania | October 3, 2012 A great store with people who seem to care about their job. They always tend to my questions. The tap selection isn’t great on normal occasions but every now and then they have something surely worth trying. The bottles are of good quality. I find something every time I stop in. Check it out. | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 Dogbrick (561) Columbus, Ohio | August 4, 2012 (Visited 03/2012): Lizardville is on Miles Rd not too far off I-271, right next to Winking Lizard’s bar and party center. Pretty square brick building with a private lot in front.
The inside opens to a bottle shop, and past that is a cozy bar. The shop has wall to wall shelves full of beer from all over. Between the bar are some barrels and the bar wraps around, showing off a well-stocked whiskey selection and board listing their draught beers.
Lizardville has around 12 draught beers featuring craft brewers like Founders, Great Lakes, Victory and CBC. Growlers are available. The shop has 400+ selections from domestic and international microbreweries.
Service was friendly and knowledgeable on our visit.
We did not try any food on our visit.
Overall this is a great spot that I would frequent heavily if it were nearby. | 92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 Tmoney99 (366) Cincinnati, Ohio | July 6, 2012 Easy to find. Freindly people. Good tap selection and better bottle selection to drink or take. Well worth the visit. | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 20/20 DoublEE (6) South Euclid, Ohio | June 10, 2012 One of my favorites! | 94 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 JStax (72) Devola/Marietta, Ohio | May 8, 2012 Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. At first, the place wasn’t too busy, but the longer we stayed, the busier the place got. We eventually decided to move our drinking to the outside bar where, surprisingly, nobody else had figured out was empty. The bottled beer selection was supremely impressive and organized about as well as anybody could request. Everything was organized by style. It was easy to find something if it was there. The draft selection was quite impressive, carrying mostly seasonals, imports, and one-offs. They definitely get the most out of their 8 taps. If you’re into whiskey at all, they have a 69 page whiskey menu. The staff was all very helpful anytime I had a question. Burl, who took care of us for most of our visit, was very knowledgeable and able to talk about any beer we decided to talk about. The place is a must-stop if you are in the Cleveland area. If you don’t, you will have missed a golden opportunity. |
