I used to be a regular when I lived in STL. Worth a visit if you are in the Central West End. The place has lots of character and history in the region. A couple decent beers on tap most of the time, but not the best place for beers. Food is good, but expensive. The chips are worth the trip.

I have visited several of the Llywelyn’s in the Metro area. I am never disppointed by either the food or the beer selection. They have different beers each time I visit. This is probably the oldest of the Pub’s, but still a nice place to sit and relax and enjoy a few of their nice brews.

I’m always disappointed for some reason when I go to Llywelyn’s. I always forget they allow smoking, I always expect slightly better food, and I always expect something more interesting on tap. Sure, they have some good rotating local stuff from Schlafly, 2nd Shift, and others, but few rotating non-locals (Southern Tier Creme Brulee was on recently, which was interesting), and mostly macros from here and Europe. I’ve had very poor service here a few times and mediocre service others. For a better atmosphere, beer list, menu, and service, go around the corner to Dressel’s or Pi.
