Visited with my girlfriend during a recent trip to Chicago.
VIBE: hardcore metal dive bar and loud music, which put us off initially, but the staff ensure that everyone feels welcomed. Really cool historical portraits of the city and the signs ("No Specials Ever," "Welcome Nerds," "Purveyors of the Miller High Life") made us laugh. We enjoyed the privacy of our booth in the back of the bar.
SERVICE: quick and attentive waiters are
readily able to make solid suggestions. I
was drinking by style and each server
made appropriate recos based on what I
was looking for. All of them asked me
what I thought of the beers. Food arrived
swiftly and the staff were chatting us up
on our way out. Very friendly people running this place.
SELECTION: silly and robust list of rare
draughts from across the globe. I quaffed
a SKA Steel Toe Stout, Green Flash
Imperial IPA, and Lost Abbey Avant
Garde and also noticed Port Brewing
Older Viscosity, Mikkeller Funky E Star,
Great Divide Belgian Yeti, and Old
Mephisto on tap. Most of the Three
Floyds lineup was available. Didnít even
look at the bottle menu since the draughts
were so good.
FOOD: we only planned to have drinks
but the food menu looked appetizing so
we ordered the Guacamole plate. It was
super fresh and tasty with a thoughtful
presentation. Iíd love to return for dinner
to try the one of the poí boys or jambalaya.
OVERALL: had an awesome time here and would gladly revisit. Definitely one of the top spots that we came across while vacationing in Chicago. A mandatory stop.

I was ecstatic when I arrived at this beer bar. It has been one of my top favorite places to drink beer. I went there during a quick trip to Chicago. We only had the chance to go twice in three days, however I wish it was more! I could not get enough. I love the atmosphere. I am a pretty big heavy metal fan and I love beer. I wish I was able to be there on one of the nights they played only metal! However, I know that will happen down the road. I had Three floyds here for the first time and on our last visit we had a cantillon classic gueuze (yellow label). Upon leaving one of the visits, I was given a free pair of local option socks since I was unable to be there for the Metallica night. What a great experience. Amazing all around, beer, food, and environment.

This is the best beer bar in my life and thatís saying something. The bar is a metal bar that had a sign that said "we love nerds" being a Nerd, and my girlfriend being a metal Nerd this place made us feel at home. The taps were incredible with 3 three floyds taps and 4 central waters taps including an incredible bourbon barrel barleywine and dreadnaught. The food was such a pleasant suprise considering we ordered crab and swordfish. We also cracked a bottle of cantillon gueze which was such a pleasant suprise. Love this place.

If your in the area and looking for a "hip/trendy anti hip/trendy" place for a brew or 2 its worth a stop. Solid selection of craft beers, solid service, bar food.
Not necessarily a place I would go out of my way to stop at but will definitely pop in if Iím in the area.

Food is ok, but I definately come here for the beer. Service is great and the beers are stellar! Lots of Mikkeller, Jolly Pumpkin, Lost Abbey, Evil Twin and Three Floyds on draught. Was lucky to drink a few Three Floydís Shark Pants a couple weeks ago for their party. Surely not your typical "Lincoln Park" bar, this is why Iíd come to LP anyways. A must if you appreciate good beer.

Great place, wait staff were great, the selection was great, evil twin, lost abbey, mikkeller, three floyds, to name a few. A gem of a place. I like the miller signs. A guy at the table next to us ordered a miller light, the bar does carry bottles of high life . Food is not bad.

In my opinion, this is the best bar in Chicago. The waiter/bartender was very knowledgeable in beer and helped my make my decision in what to order. They easily have the rarest selection in all of Chicago. Mikkeller, Evil Twin, Lost Abbey, Port, amazing stuff! I will definitely be back. My beers were each around $9 bucks but I left very happy. And thats what counts!

Stopped on a wednesday night. Sat at the bar and got decent service all night long (a tad slow, but the place was pretty full). Lots of fancy beers on tap, this place is clearly one of those quality before quantity places. If I had a liver of steel, I wouldíve had every beer on tap. Except I would have needed a golden wallet too, because this place is quite expensive. The food was good for the size of the place (it isnít really a restaurant as you will see if you go). A good beer stop nonetheless.

WOW!!! Found this place on a quick trip to CHI this past weekend thanks to fellow RateBeer users. This place delivered on all levels. Very friendly and eager to serve bartenders, selection of 31 fantastic, some unusual taps, great food. Only downer was that it was just a tad more expensive than normal. A must-stop for the craft beer fan in Chicago.

A must-stop if youíre in Chicago. Iíve been here many many times. Always some good stuff on tap and the staff is very knowledgable and pretty on top of things. Food is okay, nothing to rave about, kinda expensive for what you get. That said, this place is all about the beer to me and Iím almost always into a few choices they have on draft (and Iím picky).
