Absolutely love this Chicago Beer Bar! It is in a super unlikely location but so worth seeking out. They have a lovingly selected 25 taps that are constantly changing. I donít think any beer has a designated line which means a different selection every time you go! The staff is super knowledgeable too. Proper pours, correct glassware and beers you wonít find just anywhere!

I try to make it to the Local Option as often as possible, which usually ends up being every few weeks. The food is solid and well priced. The tap selection is as good as anywhere I have been, boasting both local and import kegs. It is loud when busy, but the crowds arenít usually too big. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and willing to help make recommendations. Overall, this is one of, if not the, best beer bars in Chicago.

Clearly, they keep it simple. I was so pleasantly surprised by this one - The food is simple fare at average prices for a reason ; youíre going to be dropping dollars on the brews here. I wouldnít say the prices were cheap on the brews, no - somewhere in the middle to the higher side. The Burger came out super quick and was good, for sure

Found this place by doing a search for beer bars in Chicago. Was in town for conference. Was here early on a Monday evening and the crowd was pretty much locals. Not a big place, Iíd say approx 60 seas. Bartender seemed to know everyone. Bartender was exceptional. Totally knew his stuff and picked out the perfect fruity beer for my wilfe. Very friendly guy. 25 beers on tap. Plenty more available in bottles. All craft brews. I had the Great Divide Oak Aged Yeti and the Mikkeller East Kent IPA. Already had eaten dinner so just had an appitizer. Beer on the pricing side. Most $8 or $9, but considering the selection Iím not complaining to loud. Overall really liked this place and will visit next time Iím in town.

Hilariously decorated with a plethora of Miller signs, there is no Miller or other various swill to be found here. The tap list is one of the strongest Iíve seen including Mikeller, Hopsplam, Fastenbier, Dark Horse, etc. Service was personable and highly attentive. I had a veggie salad which was one of the best salads I have had. I will be back if ever in the area. The quiet neighborhood location is another plus.

I love the Local Option. The staff has always been very knowlegable, and made excellent recommendations. ...not to mention, talk about beer for hours on end! Excellent tap choices, extensive bottle list, and you can expect to find something from FFF, Brooklyn, or others that isnít offered elsewhere from time to time. Only had food once, but was very satisfied. Only points retracted for occasional frat-boy game-day type atmosphere. (rare)
