I have heard some great things about this place, figured I would make the quick walk up from CBC to check it out. I was instantly greeted by a giant curtain.....ok whatever. Once I got through the magic trick entrance I was greeted by a large U shaped bar with booths along the wall adjacent to it. Decent amount of people but not packed at all, got more packed as I left. Two TVís, only one on, offers a distraction from the overly loud people scattered around the bar. Service was pretty solid. My bartender really knew her stuff and answered every question I had easily and I got most of my drinks quickly. She went a little scattered as the bar filled up, spending quite a bit of time talking to the locals and not taking others orders as quickly as she should have. Quality is high across the board. They donít appear to skimp on anything here. Proper glasses and top shelf ingredients are the norm here apparently. Selection is as expected, diverse. Beers from all over the world with a wide range of styles. Nothing overly rare but the variety makes up for it. I went with the bartenders choice, a german weisse, and it was pretty good. I got some polenta fries to go and they were really good. I am definitely going to try some of the other menu items next time as they smelled excellent. Prices are a little high, especially on food, but it is a major bar in a major city so I was expecting that. Overall an awesome beer bar. I will definitely return in the future.

Walked here from Harvard Square on a fine spring day. Arrived at 4:30. Just me and two attractive barmaids, one of whom was heavily tatooed and spent most of the time taliking to young female patrons, and the cook with some interesting alt music playing. Nice beer list -- nothing rare but plenty of obscure local beers. Although not shown on the beer menu, they do sell half pours for half price, and are pretty liberal on the free tastes, which is nice. Had an exceleent steak salad. Definitely worth the 30 min walk!

Insanely busy and I managed to grab the last available corner spot at the bar otherwise it was standing room only. I actually prefer to stand but in America itís not the done thing in bars and pubs. Anyway, Iím not sure if itís always this crazy on a Saturday afternoon but it turned out that they were launching their Lord Hobo Pale Ale or something along those lines. I struggled to hear myself think it was so loud in here. The tap selection was nice and I found two beers to try on the menu. Credit to the bar staff who were quick on service during a busy period. I didnít hang around for too long though. Mixed crowd but mostly younger (than me) type folk. Everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves so good on Lord Hobo. I didnít eat but food looked plentiful.

Visited on a Friday evening, EBF weekend. The place was full but not packed, however it was very loud, loud music and people trying to shout over the music. Service was very efficient despite this, which was impressive. I didnít have any food but the draught list was pretty impressive, lots of choices and a careful selection of various styles. Prices are somewhat high, hard to get a pint for less than 8 bucks. I would definitely go back though if in Boston again.

This is interesting place with certain hipster/student vibe. Selection (41 taps) is so good that this is must place to visit in Boston. Food was tasty enough and canít remember anything bad about service either.

Deserves all the praise itís getting. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, great food, greater beer. Plenty of taps with some proper variety and a good bottle selection to boot. Thereís no reason to miss this if you come to Boston.

Visited late on a Tuesday night and found the place surprisingly busy. The clientele was pretty young. Lots of Narragansett was being consumed. The beer list was solid. I counted about 40 beers. Probably a third of the list came from New England. I settled on pours from Lost Nation and Trillium. Prices for the beer wasnít exactly cheap, though Boston seems to be an expensive place in general. One Trillium beer on the menu was priced at $12 for a 12oz pour. The food was more reasonable, but I canít say I was impressed by it. My burger was the definition of mediocre. Service was friendly, prompt. Overall, Iíd return again, but this visit didnít leave me blown away by the experience.

After salivating at the menu online, I stopped by here for lunch to find its one of those places that does brunch on Sunday, I hate that crap. If I want brunch, Iíll go to a brunch place. Having said that, my food was pretty good as were the others I was with. That sadly was the highlight of my visit. The host was super friendly, but the server was slightly rude, slow and put off by our orders. The draft list was pretty pathetic, I was expecting some major heavy hitters for such a lofty RB ranking. The focus was more on national beers, albeit decent, that you can get anywhere, vs having more locals of Night shift, Trillium, Jackís Abby and the rest. This place can be skipped.

Saw mention of this as being a perfect vampire hang out. That is a great discription for me. Starting with the velvet curtain and the dog at the front that you walk through. The tap list is no debate, it was long and solid. But I personally wasnt a fan of the ambiance. Everyone wasnt really dress up but it felt lke you should be. It just had a strange feel. Maybe it was too hipster or something but it just wasnt really my type of place. As a beer geek it was worth looking for the tap list.

Kind of a rocker beer bar in Cambridge. Groovy music, bitchiní tap selection. Small but impressive bottle selection. Sort of friendly staff in that posh hipster way. Best place Iíve visited in the NE.
