I have heard some great things about this place, figured I would make the quick walk up from CBC to check it out. I was instantly greeted by a giant curtain.....ok whatever. Once I got through the magic trick entrance I was greeted by a large U shaped bar with booths along the wall adjacent to it. Decent amount of people but not packed at all, got more packed as I left. Two TV’s, only one on, offers a distraction from the overly loud people scattered around the bar. Service was pretty solid. My bartender really knew her stuff and answered every question I had easily and I got most of my drinks quickly. She went a little scattered as the bar filled up, spending quite a bit of time talking to the locals and not taking others orders as quickly as she should have. Quality is high across the board. They don’t appear to skimp on anything here. Proper glasses and top shelf ingredients are the norm here apparently. Selection is as expected, diverse. Beers from all over the world with a wide range of styles. Nothing overly rare but the variety makes up for it. I went with the bartenders choice, a german weisse, and it was pretty good. I got some polenta fries to go and they were really good. I am definitely going to try some of the other menu items next time as they smelled excellent. Prices are a little high, especially on food, but it is a major bar in a major city so I was expecting that. Overall an awesome beer bar. I will definitely return in the future.

Expensive and hipstery, but a great selection of hard-to-find beer. Definitely worth the trip to Inmann Square.

Toujours bondé, cusine de pub ouverte jusqu’à tard avec quelques choix intéressants dont le mac n’ cheese et le végé/lentilles burger formidable. La tap liste est également solide.

First stop while visitng Boston. Opened at 11am and I was there at 11:01 for brunch on a Saturday. Ordered an egg and bacon sandwich with sweet potato hash. Very good. Lots of bottles and drafts alike...all craft of course. Bartender was very knowledgeable and friendly. Had three beers on draft (all locals). Highly recommend Lord Hobo. Also home of a Zwanze Day.

This is a casual bar that is easily missed if you are driving and hard to find if you are walking, but it is still worth seeking out as one of the best beer bars in New England. The room is on the small side and is quite dark and worn. The main feature is the bar that juts out into the middle of the room. There’s about 30 beers on tap (all of them unusual) and many more in bottle, although I’ve never seen anyone with a bottle. The tap offerings change often. I have been to this place several times and have always found at least four beers I had never had before. The food is excellent. No typical bar fare here. The food prices are good, but the beer prices run on the high side. Then again, one will unlikely find some of the offerings anywhere else in Boston.

Good beer selection. No surprising beer but will not disappoint. Great crowd. Good service, and the food was surprisingly good. My new favorite place in this area

When I visited: Mid-September 2013. What I had: Jack’s Abby Pro-Am Pilsner, Port Brewing Wipeout IPA, Pretty Things Field Mouse’s Farewell, Smuttynose Rhye IPA, and Lost Abbey Witch’s Wit on tap, truffle fries, pan roasted salmon, mac and cheese, and several glasses of Wairau River Sauvignon Blanc for my better half. What I liked: Dark, no frills ambience, good college crowd, comfy and approachable bar, insane draught list, quick and welcoming servers, delicious food, had a great chat with the bartender and one of the patrons. What I disliked: Nothing. We had a near-flawless experience and would come here very often if we lived in the neighbourhood. Would I go back? Absolutely. Overall Rating: 98

Stopped in on a Wednesday night, place was surprisingly busy considering no major sporting event was going on, had to park about 2 blocks away and walk in the sub freezing temps, no room at the bar, and had to wait about 10 minutes for a table, was seated at a tall high top table with a couple having an awkward date and a lone dude on his ipad, whatever. Beer selection was good with maybe 40 drafts some cool stuff, some unique locals really good choices, prices are fair with mainstream boston I suppose, food was decent had the Hobo Burger with some spicy onions on it, the pickle was also hot like it had been pickled in a mix with hot peppers. Server was attentive and willing to help other patrons select their beverages. Good spot would return perhaps for lunch on a weekend when not as busy.

Stopped in on a Monday night, plenty of seats. Dark bar, medium sized, hipster crowd. Maybe 40-50 beers on tap. Nice selection. A mix of locals and expensive Euro/West Coast offerings. Food menu is small but everything is delicious. Good service.

Visited on 7/21/12. I came here on recommendations from a friend and many BA members (and our waitress at CBC). A: The place doesn’t look like much from the exterior other than a corner bar. The interior has a very dark motive, almost gothic feel to it. Q: These guys don’t screw around with their beer selection as they were solid across the board, nothing rare but no bullshit either. S: Service was great, went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t more than half full but our server was cool, very knowledgable and attentive. S: Solid Selection, great array of styles, regions across the entire menu. V: Between the 4 of us, 6 beers came to about 50 bucks. Reasonable for the great beers we were drinking. Overall, the highlight of my entire weekend in Boston. A Must Stop.
