I have heard some great things about this place, figured I would make the quick walk up from CBC to check it out. I was instantly greeted by a giant curtain.....ok whatever. Once I got through the magic trick entrance I was greeted by a large U shaped bar with booths along the wall adjacent to it. Decent amount of people but not packed at all, got more packed as I left. Two TVís, only one on, offers a distraction from the overly loud people scattered around the bar. Service was pretty solid. My bartender really knew her stuff and answered every question I had easily and I got most of my drinks quickly. She went a little scattered as the bar filled up, spending quite a bit of time talking to the locals and not taking others orders as quickly as she should have. Quality is high across the board. They donít appear to skimp on anything here. Proper glasses and top shelf ingredients are the norm here apparently. Selection is as expected, diverse. Beers from all over the world with a wide range of styles. Nothing overly rare but the variety makes up for it. I went with the bartenders choice, a german weisse, and it was pretty good. I got some polenta fries to go and they were really good. I am definitely going to try some of the other menu items next time as they smelled excellent. Prices are a little high, especially on food, but it is a major bar in a major city so I was expecting that. Overall an awesome beer bar. I will definitely return in the future.

Visited Friday evening. Crowded place and much smaller than I thought, in a residential area. Kind of the pub at the corner. Impressive tap list, really nice food. Worth the little walk from the subway.

We visited Lord Hobo on a Sunday afternoon to sample beers and meet up with the infamous ClakVV. The reputation of this place (& Clark) preceded itself. The bar is located in more of a neighbourhood location and was actually quite a bit smaller than I was expecting. We sat at the bar and immediately were presented with a tap menu of impressive scale. They have plenty of variety and obscurity on offer. We went through a few barrel-aged Stone beers (the beer themselves were a touch underwhelming) and some tasty Kent Falls. Although I did not partake, the bottle list also looked pretty solid. Service was friendly but it took a while to get served, even though it was quite quiet during our visit. I wish I had more time to spend here, but alas the Boston leg of our trip was a short one. One of the best beer venues in Boston.

Definitely the best place I visited in Boston. Neighbourhood vibe, and good, friendly service (hard to come by in this town it seems). Lots of good beers on tap, and their house beers were pretty good too. Cool vibe, and they were playing reggae all night so that was nice.

Took us about 15 minutes by foot from Meadhall. Looks bit fishy form outside. Pretty dark inside and quite crowded. Great tap list, lots of interesting stuff. Food and service were very good. Iíd consider it a must visit while in Boston.

Much nicer place than it would appear from outside. Beer selection is diverse but mostly from the North East. One of the best beer bars in Boston.

In my top 3 favorite beer bars to visit in Boston (Deep Ellum and Row 34 being the other two) and itís an enjoyable atmosphere, laid back and has good food and always a wonderfully well-thought-out draught list. Of the three, however, Iíve had the most problems here, most recently being served two 12 ounce beers that were listed as 16 oz on the menu (by a bartender whoíd been there a long time). The second beer, a light German Zwickel (Urban chestnut) was dominated by coffee flavor. If I want uncleaned lines, Iíll head to Sunset Grill, thank you very much. As well, the bottle prices are absurd ($65 for A Deal with the Devil?? $8 for a Jabby Brau?!?). But selection rules, so Iíll always keep coming back.

Hip place playing 90s rock music all night. Excellent selection of craft brews from around the US. Decent food. Acceptable value. Would go back.

Walked here from Harvard Square on a fine spring day. Arrived at 4:30. Just me and two attractive barmaids, one of whom was heavily tatooed and spent most of the time taliking to young female patrons, and the cook with some interesting alt music playing. Nice beer list -- nothing rare but plenty of obscure local beers. Although not shown on the beer menu, they do sell half pours for half price, and are pretty liberal on the free tastes, which is nice. Had an exceleent steak salad. Definitely worth the 30 min walk!
