Was here on a normal Saturday. Pretty good tap list, nice bottle list, too "hipster" for my taste. Food was okay and the service was top notch.

Stopped in on a Monday night, plenty of seats. Dark bar, medium sized, hipster crowd. Maybe 40-50 beers on tap. Nice selection. A mix of locals and expensive Euro/West Coast offerings. Food menu is small but everything is delicious. Good service.

90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 18/20
Visited on 7/21/12. I came here on recommendations from a friend and many BA members (and our waitress at CBC).
A: The place doesn’t look like much from the exterior other than a corner bar. The interior has a very dark motive, almost gothic feel to it.
Q: These guys don’t screw around with their beer selection as they were solid across the board, nothing rare but no bullshit either.
S: Service was great, went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t more than half full but our server was cool, very knowledgable and attentive.
S: Solid Selection, great array of styles, regions across the entire menu.
V: Between the 4 of us, 6 beers came to about 50 bucks. Reasonable for the great beers we were drinking.
Overall, the highlight of my entire weekend in Boston. A Must Stop.

Very nice place! Ambiance was really good despite a couple of hipsters in the place. Not too loud compare to a couple of places we have been in the area. Service was awesome and helpful with the bottle list. Great selection with a couple of fairly limited beers (including Night Shift). Food was really good, we ate crab cake, cheese and fries and everything was awesome. A tad pricey, but not bad for the area. A must visit place when you are in Boston/Cambridge area.

Great selection of beers served fresh and in the right glassware but the place itself had a bit of a strange vibe. Another reviewer describes it perfectly as a vampire hangout. which is exactly the feeling I got. Beer was good though so can’t complain.

I had expected this place to be incredibly snooty, but it really wasn’t. I had a great time there, the service was great, and the beers were wonderful. I look forward to returning next time I’m in the area.

I stopped in mid afternoon with the bar full but all the tables were empty.
Service was fine except both beers were what I would consider short pours with a full inch of head. Granted my standards might be high but for a $6-8 pint I’d like the whole glass
The selection was very good with a regional representation and good national representation. I had a Blatant IPA (MA) and a Sculpin.
Food menu was for brunch and when I inquired I was offered a burger....

Ambience is weird, like a vampire hangout with tons mod communist artwork and they had the Red Sox game on, is it hipster now to like sports? Awesome tap loosing, friendly service and reasonable prices

This is a serious beer joint. The emphasis is on getting quality brews for people like us to geek out on. It was very busy on a Friday night, but not prohibitively so. There were tons of things on tap I wanted to drink. Service was good. Bartenders stayed busy to keep up with the volume. The ambiance is cool with the wooden interior, hip music and very, very dim lighting. Also, the hobo burger is incredibly delicious.

I have a pretty serious beer crush on this place. Stopped by for brunch and the food was excellent. Love the atmosphere and the thought that clearly went into selecting their taps & bottles. Staff is a bit standoffish until they decide you know enough about beer to warm up to you, but that’s fine. Lots of people seemed to wander in because of the location and couldn’t care less about their riches on tap. A must-visit place if you’re in Boston.
