True bottle shop (not many 6pks/4pks available). Shelton Brothers stuff out the wazoo. Small selection overall, but mostly pretty good stuff. Would like to see more domestic stuff; the Shelton Bros. stuff is, obviously outstanding, but lets not forget the enormous variety and quality that American craft brewers have to offer! The Louisville Beer Store is a solid spot though. Definitely worthy of a visit if you're in the neighborhood.

Nice bottle shop near downtown Louisville. Small but cool ambiance with a ton of bottles and some good drafts, which you can drink (as well as sample) there. Value was good too. The only thing that wasn’t good was the service; the two employees behind the counter were completely disinterested, and unknowledgeable to boot. Not rude; just in their own worlds (and s...l...o...w...). This place would be great if they reconstructed their staff, but it’s still worth a stop.

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with LBS. Their store is cool and they have a decent selection but their service is the pits. Nobody wants to help you and if you ask question, they talk to you like you’re a fool. It is what it is, just know what to expect when you walk through the door.

Great selection, from bottles to taps. Prices are pretty spot on and coupled with the variety it makes a beer geek salivate. The service isnt always the greatest but i dont go into a store without doing my homework on what im looking to purchase so I dont usually ask advice from staff in most places. The size of the place kills the ambiance with the feelings of being claustrophobic creeping about when the store is busy and full of people. overall great place to stock up on great hard to find beers.

This small place is jam packed with beer, flor to ceiling. Amazing number of special beers that I haven’t seen anywhere else. Half a dozen or so taps, and you can open any beer from the coolers or shelves to drink in the store. Prices were on the high side, but worth it for a collection that obviously took a lot of effort to put together. Oh, and free food just started showing up, I have no idea why. Good vibe with lots of happy and enthusiastic customers just hanging out. A great addition to the Louisville beer scene.

Nice little bottle shop with about 8 beers on tap for pints and growlers. Service was decent but not very friendly. Decent selection but nothing I didn’t see in other parts of the state. Prices seemed fairly good. Worth checking out if you’re in the area and not far from Against the Grain.

The prices are good, the service was above average, & the selection is of good quality. This place is kind of what I expect out of a bottle shop. The prices were fair too. If I am in the area I will go back.

Not a bad selection. I found some nice imports, and there was a solid selection of craft beer. The place definitely has a bit of a hipster vibe going on, and I’m seriously tired of hipsterism with beer. Prices close to average, maybe a little on the high side of average. Be warned, if you’re planning to visit on a Saturday, they play a little loose with their hours. The first time I tried to visit the place, they weren’t open at 1pm. The second time I tried, they weren’t open again at 2pm, so I ran A few blocks away to Against the Grain. Afterwards, the place was finally open.

This store is a good idea that needs better execution. The location works, the set-up/ambience is good, but the guy working the counter knew nothing about his beers, and not only didn’t express any enthusiasm, his cool demeanor and unfriendliness cost him business. Selection is high on Belgium, and includes over a hundred quality selections at a reasonable price, but I don’t feel compelled to return the next time I visit Louisville.

Very nice little store in the NuLu area of Louisville, (ie; the new yuppie hipster area). The store is nice and clean with a nice, easy going ambiance. Must be all the original wood and brick that have been cleaned and/or restored in this place. Has kind of an old-timey turn of the century charm to the place. Great selection of beer in bottles! Found several American craft beers that I have not seen elsewhere in Louisville. Lots of imports too! In fact, maybe too many. Lots of imports that look very interesting, but are out of my price range. That’s the main drawback to this place, the prices. Not that they are bad, not at all. It’s just that far too many of the beers I have found are generally a dollar or two more here than in other places in the Louisville area where I have seen them. But that is understandable. LBS is nowhere near as big as some of these stores I an thinking of, and I can’t imagine what they’re paying in rent here, (I’m sure, being this area of town, that is is ungodly). The owner seems to be working all day every day! I have never been in here without seeing him at the counter. He is a very friendly guy, but you pretty much have to engage him in conversation first. Oh and they have a very nice sampling bar too! Rotating taps that you can get samples from, or a whole pint if you wish, for a very fair price! Great little place and definitely worth a visit!
