Quaint little bottle shop w/8 tap bar housing loads of great craft and imports. Taps are always rotating and the atmosphere is very inviting. Lori and Tyler have a gem of a beer stop with the Louisville Beer Store.

Love the selection and the concept. Unfortunately, the service suffers as the people serving love talking about beer to the point of overlooking customers at times.

Love the ambiance of the place. Lori and Trevor are the very knowledgeable proprietors and Daniel who works many nights is equally capable of helping customers find that perfect beer.

Interesting place. It’s like a beer store/bar hybrid. Not a massive amount of bottles but an excellent selection and what they do have is of high quality. Three Floyds in Kentucky? Surprising. Very good import choices. I get the impression that if it gets distributed in the area then they do their best to get it. Quite a few taps with lots of upcoming beer events listed on the chalk board. Limited seating and the place itself is small so I can see this being an issue. Very clean and well organized. Street parking and I don’t know enough about Louisville to say whether the area is okay or not. Very helpful and enthusiastic staff. Spoke with one person for a bit (Lori?) who clearly had passion for beer and came across to me as very knowledgeable. I thought the prices were very good for a bottle shop and the fact that you can open anything there for just a $1 increase is a great deal. Overall I think this is a pretty cool place with a formula for success.

My favorite bottle shop, with the great upside of also being a tasting room. Lori and Tyler (the owners) are great people with a rich enthusiasm for what they do. Daniel, the scruffy fellow behind the bar, is very knowledgeable as well, and always willing to help you find the right brew. This is a "young" store, barely a year old, but they have established themselves as a major player in the local beer scene. Regular events include a ladies’ homebrew club, other homebrew how-to events, themed tastings, food/beer pairings, guests from all over the country, and more. Their selection is outstanding, and it seems to only get better every month. The patio in the back area is a huge plus. Value is quite good, I believe, some price points are better than others. The draft flights are very good for someone wanting to try several beers without purging their wallet. Really a unique place. [Minor edits, Nov. ’11]

Good selection of Belgian beer. Pretty good selection of german and american beer. Place is a little small. Most of the store are singles, which is good for those who don’t know what they want or when trying new stuff. Most of the stuff is on the shelf and some is refrigerated. You can have a few different brews on draft. Pretty expensive, expect about a 25% increase in price for most items.

Ambiance is nice, though lack of seating, for understandable reasons, in the tasting room isn’t conducive to me staying a while. That is made up for with the back patio, which is comfortable, almost oasis-like.
Beer selection is probably second best in the city, outside of chain bars and baxter/st.mathews bars (birthday shots!).
The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely recommend it as a nice little watering hole.

Great place -- friendly, knowledgeable owners and a fantastic selection of beers of all types. I was a beer novice when the place opened last year, and they’ve provided the major impetus for everything I’ve learned and experienced ever since.
Spending a post-work happy hour at LBS is the perfect way to while away a Thursday night, and the outside courtyard is a nice addition. And it’s especially cool that it’s part of the impressive renaissance of what was once a total urban wasteland.
One of my favorite places in my hometown.

This is a place where every time I walk in I feel loved and I feel at home .. Lori & Tyler are amazing people with a great knowledge and love for beer. Probably one of the best bottle selections one will find in town. I also enjoy the taps they rotate through .. you can even enjoy a brew as you peruse their collection of fine brews while listening to the LPs they play, or hangout outside which is an awesome enchanted atmosphere

A nice bottle shop, I liked that you can have a drink while you browse (in the state where I have lived further South, this is illegal). I will warn that the owner is very nice but has the disposition of a stoner (so either get excited or dread some boring ass stories). Prices were fair but not insane. I picked Old Rasputin XII, BBC Jefferson Reserve Stout, World Wide Stout, and Oak Aged Yeti. The flights are a good deal here, and their draft selection is small but only good somewhat rarer stuff.
