Ambiance is nice, though lack of seating, for understandable reasons, in the tasting room isn’t conducive to me staying a while. That is made up for with the back patio, which is comfortable, almost oasis-like. Beer selection is probably second best in the city, outside of chain bars and baxter/st.mathews bars (birthday shots!). The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely recommend it as a nice little watering hole.

Great place -- friendly, knowledgeable owners and a fantastic selection of beers of all types. I was a beer novice when the place opened last year, and they’ve provided the major impetus for everything I’ve learned and experienced ever since. Spending a post-work happy hour at LBS is the perfect way to while away a Thursday night, and the outside courtyard is a nice addition. And it’s especially cool that it’s part of the impressive renaissance of what was once a total urban wasteland. One of my favorite places in my hometown.

This is a place where every time I walk in I feel loved and I feel at home .. Lori & Tyler are amazing people with a great knowledge and love for beer. Probably one of the best bottle selections one will find in town. I also enjoy the taps they rotate through .. you can even enjoy a brew as you peruse their collection of fine brews while listening to the LPs they play, or hangout outside which is an awesome enchanted atmosphere

A nice bottle shop, I liked that you can have a drink while you browse (in the state where I have lived further South, this is illegal). I will warn that the owner is very nice but has the disposition of a stoner (so either get excited or dread some boring ass stories). Prices were fair but not insane. I picked Old Rasputin XII, BBC Jefferson Reserve Stout, World Wide Stout, and Oak Aged Yeti. The flights are a good deal here, and their draft selection is small but only good somewhat rarer stuff.

Nice little gem in Louisville. Went there to but beer only to find that one can get beer on tap also. What a cool place.

A warm, welcoming place that’s become another critical piece in a resurging neighborhod. Lori and (especially) Tyler have an obvious enthusiasm for and knowledge of their beers, and the selection to back it up. Feels like a gathering of old friends. The place can get a bit crowded at times, but that strikes me as a good thing -- the more business, the better. Definitely a place I plan to turn all my beer-loving friends on to, and my out of town visitors can expect to be taken there as well.

A great store in the East Market District. There is a great beer selection, and both Tyler and Lori (the owners) are very knowledgeable about the beer they sell. They are very quick to serve and willing to offer their opinion and suggestions.

Revised 01\08\11: Small store, but nice usage of the space- bottles on the right (some refrigerated in the back) and a bar area on the left, with some glassware and such. Service is usually Tyler or Lori, and they are both very knowledgeable beer lovers who enjoy discussing the craft beer scene. Beer selection is wonderful, perhaps only Sergio and the Keg are better. I especially appreciate their Lambic\Gueuze\Sour Ale selection. I have not had food there, but I do feel that beers are fairly priced, especially the beer flights and one dollar samples. Occasionally the bottles are a little higher than the chain stores (Liquor Barn). A great beer destination with a personal touch in the Louisville area, for Belgophiles especially.

Nice location on East Market in downtown Louisville. The place is a beer store with a great twist--they have taps with some really great selections, so you can enjoy a fine beer while persuing the shelves filled with an excellent selection of imports and American craft beer. This place is a must-stop whether you’re local or just visiting. Tyler and Lori have done a great job with the place, and it’s refreshing to see real beer establishments beginning to appear in Louisville.
