96 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 Getbetter (17) Cucamonga, California | February 24, 2010 This is off Raymond and Colorado in Pasadena. This is my personal favorite bar in Southern California. There’s great beer events. For example, there’s the belgian beer festival where most their taps are Belgian. There plenty of taps and bottles.Enjoy! | 96 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 20/20 rambler99 (1) Glendora, California | September 8, 2005 Lucky Baldwin’s a great little pub. It’s got large selection of Belgian Beers and others. Great Fish and Chips | 94 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 20/20 Sven (2) Lancaster, California | June 19, 2004| Updated October 30, 2004 This is THE place to go when in the greater Los Angeles area if you are searching for obscure draught beer, hands down. Nuff said. | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 19/20 ajm (191) Los Angeles, California | November 12, 2007| Updated December 1, 2008 This place is just boss. Dave is an outstanding owner - an Englishman with a world-class education in beer, a particular fondness for Belgians, and very beneficial relationships with many of the more prominent breweries in the BeNeLux area. Not afraid of brew festivals, unusually sized bottles, or maintaining a vintage menu. Very few places put this kind of effort into everyday restaurants/bars, especially in the greater LA area. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 MattH (41) California | November 12, 2011| Updated December 1, 2008 The place is cozy. Its a little run down, but I think that gives it some charm. Honestly when I’m out to find beer I could not care less what the place looks like. And this place really is not a dive. Dives are much worse. The food is cheap and was not too bad. I got a corned beef and pastrami sandwich with a big side of fries for less than 9 bucks. Beer prices are standard for Los Angeles ranging from $5 to $9 bucks for the beers on tap. The place has several different rooms and in an upstairs room it sounded like people were having a good time watching a soccer match. I’m glad I came. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 madcanon (4) Fairhope, Alabama | January 12, 2007| Updated December 1, 2008 Great Irish Food. Small but enjoyable and good people! | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 Dunk (17) SoCal, | May 23, 2008| Updated December 1, 2008 One of the best beer spots in the greater LA area. A great location in Old Town Pasadena with parking next door and a plethora of pedestrian shopping areas to keep the family occupied while I enjoy one of their many tasty selections. The list is always changing and they regularly feature SoCal brewers. Their regular festivals (IPA, Belgian, etc.) are a treat. Cool old building with a nice shady patio on a pedestrian alley - great for relaxing and people watching. Food is mostly typical British pub fare and quite good. Service is excellent and most servers are quite knowledgeable. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 NickVega (29) Eugene, Oregon | August 17, 2007| Updated December 1, 2008 Best selection of unusual taps in LA. I’ve seen more than 10 Barley Wine’s at a time. Don’t drive out here from the beach though - it’s an expensive cab ride and you are sure to drink more than you intend. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 BeerIndustry98 (3) , California | July 8, 2008| Updated December 1, 2008 Best place to find Belgian Ales in LA. Owner of this place, Sir Dave Farnworth, is an englishman who was part of the inducted knights of the Belgian Brewers Guild. Knighted by Grand Master Jack Van Antwerpen at the Magdalena Church in Brussels, Belgium in 2004 (see Beer Mag Jul/Aug 2008). Exceptional variety of beer and ales both on tap and bottled. Beer list changes so much that they may not have everything your looking for. Have yet to try the local Craftman taps, hopefully next time. Typically a crowded atmosphere in the evenings but as Pub-ish as one could hope for. Nice patio seating. Bartender was great and pretty informative, though it was’t quite crowded yet. Food was good during 3rd Belgian Fest though tried it @ Lucky Baldwin’s #2 in Monrovia, CA. Flemish menu during festival, I had rabbit it was delicious. | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 17/20 whatsupstairs (8) Inland Empire, California | March 17, 2010| Updated December 1, 2008 i had a 1999 sierra nevada bigfoot & a hair of the dog fred 2003 on the same day
