56 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 11/20 altonbrownd (197) Brussels, Belgium | April 18, 2013 Not far from Euston Tap. A traditional English pub with a nice, albeit limited range of Shepherd Neame on tap and cask. | 54 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 10/20 Theydon_Bois (372) The ’Sham, England | January 16, 2013 Last visited here in 2009 for a works leaving do.
Long standing GBG entrant (when London didn’t have the strength in depth of pubs it has now - but no doubt CAMRA will insist on it - YES just checked the 2013 GBG and its in there !!!)
Dreary kind of place with well kept, for what its worth, SN beers.
Friendly enough clientle and busy on our visit.
Not one I’d reccomend making an effort for !
| 60 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 12/20 chriso (306) London, England | September 6, 2012 Fairly run of the mill pub notable primarily for the fact that’s it’s the only Shepherd Neame pub I know of in London to serve the full range of their cask beers, including the relatively rare Kent’s Best and the current seasonal. That’s five on handpump. Sadly they don’t have the Shepherd Neame microbrewery beers, but I don’t really know which pubs do have them regularly. Certainly none in London as far as I am aware. So. handy for vistors as a one stop shop for clearing up their Shepherd Neame cask scoops in a single location, should they so desire. | 68 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 Pubman79 (14) London, England | September 28, 2011 Decent Pub with well kept beer. | 34 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 4/15 FOOD 3/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 6/20 mym (14) London, England | February 16, 2011 Beers are ok, if you like SN. Nothing special though - pub has little character, quite a chain feel to it. | 62 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 12/20 berkshirejohn (136) Bracknell, England | January 26, 2009 Pleasant enough SN pub close to St Pancras station. Five SN cask ales, the Porter was excellent. Almost empty at lunchtime so hard to rate. | 62 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 Svesse (178) Hässelby, Sweden | October 18, 2008 Nice Shepherds Neame pub between Euston Station and Kings Cross. Up to five cask ales, all from Shepherd Neame. Efficient and friendly staff. Good pub food. Fairly large place with smaller seating areas to the sides. Definitely wort a visit if in the area. | 64 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 bhensonb (405) Woodland, California | May 25, 2008 Very good place to sip a few decent ales. Usually 5 ales on cask. At least one seasonal. The only SN pub in near range of KC/SP, unless you count the Bishop’s Finger. | 62 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 haddonsman (56) Derby, England | July 10, 2005 Handy for St Pancras, good Shepherd Neame range, if you’ve time before your next train it’s well worth passing the time in here. Single room and bit loud but still better than the crap nitro-sheds all along the Euston road. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 Joeh (49) , England | December 9, 2004| Updated April 17, 2006 Normally a Shepherd Neame tied house probably wouldn’t deserve a listing in here, but I think this place does. Well placed near Euston/Kings Cross/St Pancras railway stations, it is also an ideal second stop on a pub crawl starting at the Head of Steam. Shepherd Neame seasonals feature here in addition to the rare Best Bitter - beer quality is excellent. |
