I visited here for the pre party Bells event, with 18 Bells beers on tap. Through conversation I heard that last yearís event was slightly superior (as to the Bells selections). A very impressive Bells collection of beers, however, as Bells distributes in MN, the smoked porter and spiced stout were the only ones I donít have access to currently (unfortunately they ran out of Batch 6000 by the time we got there). Small bar, reminded me of my college days, long and thin with not much breathing room. Obviously, cigar smoke permiated the air, although it wasnít unbearable.

Stopped by here on the Eve of the Great Taste of the Midwest, on the recommendation of Nuplastikk. There was a pretty damn impressive Bellís tap takeover in progress. Apparently they do it every year, and you can tell. Great tap lineup, lots of Bells rarities, lots of free swag. Good takeover. They didnít officially do tasters, but my bartenders were willing to do half pours for me, even though the place was PACKED. Itís a smaller place, a little crowded and loud for my taste, but I can see how it would be very chill on a less busy day. Nice ambiance, big comfy leather couches, etc. Patio out front on the street. Overall, I was pretty impressed. It was crowded so we just kind of ducked in, got our beers, took our notes, and ducked out. But the place left a good impression on me. Would return, preferably when itís not so crowded. Would be a good spot for a week day night. I would avoid it on a weekend, unless I had a good reason to go.

A great place to have a cigar and a beer. They always have interesting draft options. Great in the summer time when you can sit on the sidewalk patio and enjoy a cigar outside with a beer. Worth stopping by to see what they have on draft.

Its a cigar bar so you should be ok with that if you stop there. As such, donít expect to come here and get all ocd with your beer rating. Just relax, unwind, enjoy your beer. Awesome relaxing atmosphere. An adequate but not large selection of taps that are diverse, unique, and well selected.

Small and cozy interior is beautiful to look at and immerse yourself in. Hipsterish staff. Heavy cigar smoke (which you know about going in) makes it difficult to simply enjoy a beer. For that, thereís the two tables out on the cold sidewalk. Ah well.

The vibe here is really awesome--totally chill and sophisticated--but little else did it for me. The beer list at 11 p.m. on a Friday night unfortunately had a lot of stuff erased, and there wasnít anything that was too special or rare. And the smell is good and bad: you know youíre in a cigar bar, and it wasnít oppressive, but it would make it difficult to get aromas from beer. Not my favorite place in Madison.

Went for pre-GTMW Bells party. Nice looking place with a great looking bar, leather couches, and a nice warm atmosphere. Bartenders were working their ass off and service was great despite the crowd. Obviously Bells selection was ridiculous, but have heard selection is always good. As a cigar bar, the only thing that would deter me is the smoke, but this is what theyíre going for...so canít dock them for it.

Have been here twice on the eve of the Great Taste of the Midwest for Bells Brewery parties. As such, the entire tap line system was taken over by Bells, so it was likely not representative of what is usually on tap. But, if ownership is in kahoots enough with Bells to be selected multiple times for this pre-fest gathering, then itís worth a shot the other 364 days of the year. Relatively small place that has some patio seating on the sidewalk outside. A recent post on their Facebook page mentioned the following beers on tap out of their 19 drafts: DFH 90 min, 3F Arctic Panzer, Potosi Templeton BA Oatmeal Stout & Fullers ESB. A must for cigar lovers and for beer lovers that donít mind cigar smoke.

Very nice ambiance if you donít mind the smoke! Leather couches, nice bar, not too crowded early in the evening. Go-to place for the less common Bells offerings. Bartenders quick and courteous. A great low-key place to hang out with friends while drinking great beer.

Cigar bar. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable bartender. Nice old, original stamped tin ceiling, brick wall. Good background music and breweriana on the wall. Mellow crowd. Very good prices. Draft selection is very good and mostly domesitc micros with a few good imports plus a full bar and a wine selection. Outside seating. Great ventilation. Good selection of cigars.
