Great selection, I pop over after a session and am always happy with the great selection. Agree to the need to watch how long the beers have been in the store.

When I visited: March 2012. What I bought: Nothing, the prices were shockingly expensive. What I liked: lots of rarities, as I saw all types of beers from Rogue, Mikkeller, Samuel Adams, and Founders that I had never even heard of. The clerk offered to help us as soon as we walked into the beer section, so the service was pretty good. What I disliked: Prices were nearly double what I paid for comparable beers at Wine Seller and Plum Market. Would I go back? Not unless they become more affordable. Overall Rating: 66

Another Ann Arbor liquor store with a good selection. Again, beers tend to sit a bit and this place seems to be the most expensive of the local places. The folks here donít seem to know much about beer. I would hit up the other stores before here.

We stopped by this place after leaving Beer Depot because we were searching for a Westmalle Trippel to clone. First time in Ann Arbor and I was surprised again with in five minutes to find two really nice beer stores and selections. Main probably has Beer Depot beat on selection, but overall Beer Depot is probably a little better due to all their beer brewing stuff...Main had a long row of craft, a long row of chilled craft, and then a big cooler in the back with some craft and a lot of macro stuff...The selection was really nice, had lots of staples Belgians and some harder to find ones, and tons of Michigan locals, including three bottles of Kuhnhenn. This is a place to checkt out if you want to buy some Michigan locals.

Stopped in the other day to check things out. I normally go to the Beer Depot as we pass through town, so this was a new experience. It would be hard to pick a winner between the two, so if youíre in town, you might check both. I did find a couple of pleasant surprises and oddities, but for the most part it was pretty steeply priced. An example is the Dark Horse Plead the 5th was 12.99 for a four pack... saw it next day in GR for 9.99. Itís not like a 30% markup is the rule, but Iíd guess an average of 15% on most things.

This store has a wide selection, some of the prices are a little on the high side. However, I also managed to find some deals where it was cheaper to buy 6 singles then it was to buy a 6 packs of the same beer. This place has quite a few beers in the cooler as well as many other beers/liquors/wines on the shelf. Iíll defiantly be stopping here again in the future. Did I mention it is a little cramped? A could barely pass someone in the aisle without having to do some whole maneuvering trick. This gets even more complicated as the number of beers in your hands increases.

Craft beer is on one long, narrow aisle, half open shelves and half fridge doors, plus a walk-in fridge. Itís really nice that most of the selections are refrigerated. Most of the aisle is dedicated to singles of varying sizes, while the walk-in is pretty much 4- and 6-packs among the craft beer. Some of the beers on the shelves looked pretty old, but there were quite a few fairly unusual selections there. I definitely did not expect to be walking out with a Sam Adams Triple Bock when I drove up to the store! Prices are fairly high, with 4- and 6-packs of even some fairly typical (though seasonal) beers making it up to 20 dollars (Oaked Arrogant Bastard, for example, was 19.99 a sixer). Unfortunately, money was on my mind when I stopped there today, so I didnít get a whole lot. Iíd like to stop by again when money isnít as much of an issue.

Update: For some reason, Main Street Party seems to be the place in Ann Arbor that I can pick up special releases now that Bello Vino is closed. Bellís Batch 9,000, Founders Nemesis 2009, and Founders KBS were all found here and not at the Beer Depot in their first week of release. But the prices on these can be really steep here. These days I seem to end up checking Beer Depot first in hopes of a lower price but then finding what Iím looking for here.

tight, cramped and made me wonder how well the beer was kept - not that they donít do a good job, but it has the feel of a few places Iíve been that were more about profit than beer and I didnít see anyone working there willing to discuss beer.
