88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 17/20 BrewDad (408) Olympia, | October 20, 2010 Malt & Vine I knew they had a good beer selection but I did not know about the wine or the taps they had going on. 6 different taps at the ready with some killer beers being poured. They have 700 different bottled beers from near and far to the crazy Belgian stuff from Belgium-land. Also have an extensive wine area. Very knowledgeable service I know I will be back when I am in the area. | 84 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 bhensonb (405) Woodland, California | September 24, 2009 Great website. Easy order. Fast delivery. Unusual "local" beers. Highly recommended. | 94 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 19/20 theisti (352) Leawood, Kansas | September 21, 2009| Updated June 28, 2012 Visited on Thursday Sept 10, 2009. Shopped for a bit, then met up with DalzAle, bvc and kp in the rear beer garden. The store itself has one wall of coolers for beer and wine, and then a few displayers about for more beer and wine. The selection is really good, right up there with anywhere else in Seattle. The real highlight of this place though, is the beer they have on tap. You can fill growlers to go, or you can enjoy a glass while shipping, or hanging out the tables in the store or the large beer garden out back. to be fair, "beer garden" is a stretch, its really just a portion of the back parking lot reclaimed. Regardless, it was a great place to have a couple of pints on a great evening. If you don’t find anything on tap, they have a very minimal corking fee if you want to open any of their bottles. This concept is seriously great, and really well executed by the employees. Brandon, you were right, this place rocks. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 Ibrew2or3 (300) Tempe, Arizona | October 15, 2008 Expansive array of chilled offerings. Plenty of Belgians, European and domestic craft brews. They certainly have an adequate supply of NW and local offerings. Next time I’m in town I’ll be back for more local brews. There didn’t seem to be too much overlap with the selection at bottleworks that I noticed during my visit to the area. I found several local brews here not found there. Two things: 1. I wish I had more time the day I visited to talk beer with the proprietor and sample some draft offerings, 2. Where was this place when I used to live near here? This is the kind of place I needed. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 after4ever (213) Brier, Washington | June 7, 2007| Updated June 3, 2011 This place has become a regular stop for me for the past year or so that they’ve been open. A few things are higher priced than the supermarkets, but as bottle shops go they’re more than competitive. They get virtually everything that every other store in town gets. Doug & Lizzie are super personable, knowledgeable, and cool. They make a serious effort with wine as well, and offer the unique-ish feature of rentable cellaring space. They always take care of you if you’re serious about beer. They even do weekly beer tastings, followed the next day by wine tastings. They’re in it for the love of it without a doubt. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 CheersMate (147) Fremont (Seattle), Washington | December 28, 2009| Updated June 3, 2011 Awesome place. Not too far from Renton (where my parents live). You can buy singles of anything, as long as they dont have to "break the box" in order to sell it e.g. Single Wide IPA closed box won’t be sold as a single. Found a lot of cool things here I haven’t seen anywhere else. Service is fantastic. A very chill place to have a beer and do a little shopping at the same time. Glad to have visited, and plan doing so before I leave for Atlanta. | 92 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 Crit (134) New Westminster, British Columbia | September 9, 2008| Updated March 27, 2009 Great selection, very friendly and helpful people. Decent selection of taps.
Will definitely be back | 78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 Ratman197 (125) Arvada, Colorado | December 19, 2009| Updated March 27, 2009 On line order- Great customer service. They were out of one of the ordered beers and emailed me for instructions. Good selection and prompt shipping! I recieved my order within 10 days or a little less of ordering. The only downside is 9.5% Wash. sales tax. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 miketd (124) Cleveland, Ohio | May 26, 2010 This place is awesome. Several well stocked coolers, great people working and 15 taps. Can’t ask for much more. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 17/20 bmerz (118) Brooklyn, New York | December 8, 2012 This is a really good shop and place to drink by any standard anywhere. They have a huge selection of local, Western US, and further selection. While they weren’t a huge amount of especially rare anything they more than earn high marks for the breadth. While not exactly designed it’s got a great beer spot feel and was filled with a good crowd Thursday after work drinking from the taps and bottles (reasonable corkage fee). They had Pliny on tap! And their digital tap list amazingly says how much of the keg is left! That’s one of the coolest things I’ve seen at any bar. Bravo. Oh and they will ship to you and were super helpful and knowledgable. |
