68 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 13/20 johnnnniee (64) Bedford, New Hampshire | August 6, 2011 We stopped in here for an early supper after spending a whole lot of time looking at glass in the museum down the road. This is a smallish place right in downtown Corning, if your looking for it, you’ll find it. We sat outside on this sunny day and enjoyed being on vacation. There are maybe a half a dozen tables outside and maybe twice as many inside with additional seating at the bar. Food is typical pub grub nothing overly fancy, but nothing objectionable either. Service was decent and the beer is too. I would go back if I were in Corning, but I wouldn’t make a special trip for it. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 ericschoon (11) Pennsylvania | February 19, 2011 Stopped in for some brews and food after a day of site-seeing in the area. We found the service good and sat on the outside patio (which was just the ambiance we wanted). The brew selection was alright, nothing to write home about. We enjoyed our time though and I would suggest it as a watering hole to any of my friends. | 66 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 kassner (63) Wexford, Pennsylvania | May 15, 2009 Made a point to stop in while at Conference. Nice selection of beers if their light and fruit beers were a little liking, but definetly a good attempt at authentic styles. very friendly and the house made chips are great. Some atmosphere including ouitside patio, bar a bit small but they made room for me. Walking Corning Market Street should be considered in overall experoience. | 56 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 11/20 Nate (258) Indiana, Pennsylvania | July 26, 2008 Stopped here for some samples after visiting the Corning Museum. It was a hot day, and either they don’t have A/C in the bar area or it was busted. It was the most uncomfortable brewpub visit I’ve had in a while - I couldn’t stop sweating while trying to enjoy some beer. Anyway, service was fine, although they did switch some samples on me on the glass sheet and I’m not entirely sure the bartender knew what tap was what. The beers were average but clean and no odd house characteristic. | 66 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 Sammy (466) Toronto, Ontario | October 19, 2007 Close to the glass works on a little clean downtown is this moderately sized brewpub. A small bar, a few tables, and importantly some decent beer. Corning is often passed over and through travelling North-South, and this stop is worth pointing out, a neat little place. My favourite was the dunkel. | 56 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 10/20 argo0 (205) Washington DC | August 6, 2006 Nice building, and if it were cooler (100 degrees on the afternoon we went), I’m sure the outdoor seating would be especially nice. Service was decent, but the beers themselves were subpar. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 SHIG (176) Anchorage, Alaska | May 9, 2006 Very large selection of there brews. The menu was very pleasant and I had a hard time making a decision. I was able to get a sampler which was all 5 regular beers and one seasonal, making it great for tasting. I am sure I will be back there since it is only 15 min from my home town. | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 PWalk (10) Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | May 3, 2006 Tasty brews and food make this place a spot to check out. Market St. makes for a nice setting for a brewpub. The beers were tasty and the service excellent. The waitresses were gorgeous.
"The Kegger" hamburger is excellent and the boneless chicken wings are a must have. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 Hopenvy (3) Hornell, New York | June 9, 2005 In the summer I’d change my ambiance score to a 5. The outdoor seating is so nice in Corning. The Pot Belly Pale Ale is especially nice. My only complaint is that the bar is too small. If you can get there in the afternoon, you’ll have a seat and the complete attention of the bartender. At night--especially when they have live music--it’s every man (and woman) for themselves and very crowded. The beer and food are worth a stop. |
