80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 b3shine (179) Cincinnati, Ohio | April 8, 2012 Cool spot. More of a wine bar, but they’ve got a decent bottle selection, and every once in awhile they get in some Belgium treats. | 80 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 Tmoney99 (366) Cincinnati, Ohio | April 8, 2012 Easy to find location with parking lot in rear and back door entrance. From the back is beer selection with walk in cooler. Wine in the front with bar and seating area in front. Small bar with six taps. Friendly staff with fair knowledge of beers. They do special events. Did not try food. Found a new beer for me. Nice location and good people. | 80 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 JCW (105) Cincinnati, Ohio | February 22, 2012 This place has a very good selection of craft beers and wine. The prices are pretty much what you will find most places in the area. My service wasn’t great, but that maybe more of a reflection of me(I usually don’t want beer help) than them. Missed seeing the taps(they probably should have mentioned that to me). Very good store and its close to home for me. | 92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 19/20 drfabulous (29) Lexington, Kentucky | February 18, 2012 This is a real gem of a place. While wine is the main focus, the beer selection is still very good. Picked up GI Madame Rose, some nice Buckyes, Founders All Day, B. Nektar, some Alesmiths and other goodies. Not enough money to get all I waned. Plus, Josh is such a great owner, he put aside a beer for me even though he didn’t know me and we had only interacted on email. I’ll be back for sure. | 96 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 20/20 Kco (10) | January 18, 2012 Marty’s has a great selection of beer and wine. They keep the selection of beer fresh by rotating the inventory the carry. You may not find the beer you bought last time, but your sure to find some thing that wasn’t there before. As for the selection on tap, they have 6 taps. The system only has room for 1/6 barrels, and they do not have a standard beer they always keep on tap. After all who wants to drink the same thing all the time? There are too many great brews out there. The food is really good although limited. At Marty’s you will great beer, good people, and knowledgeable friendly service. If you don’t live close by you should still make the trip. | 78 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 AndyReynolds (51) Wilder, Kentucky | December 31, 2011 Nice place on the west side of town. Other than Marty’s and The Comet, I have not found another place on the west side of Cincinnati that carries a quality selection. Marty’s has a decent amount of bottles, but the quality of the selection is what makes it great. The staff is pretty knowledgable and friendly. My only compliant is that they seem to be a little short staffed most of the time. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 phaleslu (315) Cincinnati, Ohio | May 1, 2010 Stopped in Marty’s Hops & Vines for a quick drink and a walk through the beer aisles. I drank a Rogue Mocha Porter while I walked around. Nice little beer section, with a handful of shelves. Some singles, a ton of six-packs, and a cooler with a few things that aren’t out on the shelves in addition to a lot that were. Nice wine selection; a friend got a couple bottles. We were there on a Saturday night and it was pretty crowded. The bar was full and all tables were taken; seemed like mostly a wine crowd and they were listening to the live guitar player. When I was trying to see the bottle selection, the bartender literally pulled me back there to have a closer look. Super friendly staff, and they seem genuinely grateful for the business, which is cool because they’re doing really well since they opened. Come pay this place a visit if you’re in Cincy. |
