Ok, so dont drive here, or dont park in their parking lot as 2 cars were jacked the time i was there. All their good beers were tapped out so that sucked. The rest of the selection was nothing special. They did have a cool waffles and chicken place just down the road from it though so that was cool.

Half of this places beers are lagers and the other half are ales. Maybe they ought to stick to root beer because either of the beer styles arenít very good. Convenient downtown location and decent lunch menu but fuh-get abou-it if you want to park anywhere close.

It has a great...
downtown location near the conference center. Thats the mian positive about this place.
The ambieance was íweíre trying so hard to be coolí, but they couldnít succefuly stick with a themed gimmick well enough to make it remotely work.
The beer was average at best.
The service was subpar to say the least.
The food left a fair amount to be desired.
One of the more negative reviews Iíve ever written.

This is not a favorite of mine either. There beers are always really basic. The ambiance is nice, but I am not a big fan of the employees, very commercial.

Max Lagers has apparently fallen on some hard times. This was substantially different, methinks, than the first time that I patronized the restaurant about 4 years ago. First off, the beer was pretty lackluster and clumsy. I NEVER send food back, but I did here. My fish and chips were the pits - my guess is that they chucked a piece of frozen fish into some batter and tried to cook it. It came out raw in the middle and the batter was overdone. The barmaid did call the manager who apologized, but all he did was take the food that I didnít eat off the bill. The place is starting to get run down - looks like corners are being cut. The beer was made by recipe, not by brewmaster. My guess is that Max isnít long for this world unless thereís an ownership change.
