Nice local joint. Not a place to seek out for beer, but they have a respectable tap list and some hearty German fare. Worth checking out if youíre staying in Allegheny.

Lucked into Maxís during happy hour. $3 for incredible German themed appetizers and good beer prices. Not a huge selection overall, but some good German brews and a nice surprise by the Victory Headwaters IPA on tap. I will definitely go back!

I found this place while Googling German restaurants. It was a pleasant surprise. The food was authentic and very good. While the beer selection didnít "wow" me, it was a decent blend of German imports, domestics, and some craft brews. Much to my delight, the Spaten dark beer listed is really the Optimator. I plan on going back soon as the prices were affordable.
