MAX’S YEAAAA!

Just visited last week and went back 3 times in two days. Best beer bar I have ever been in. Selection amazing, staff great, food decent, ambiance was a real blast. On Fridays you get 32 oz drafts for $6 from 5-8. Saturday wandered into the 4th Annual "Rare and Obscure" beer festival. It was hard to leave. Absolutely great place can’t wait to go back.

I think Lew Bryson said something to the effect that experience of drinking a beer at Max’s is something close to perfection. Far be it from to disagree with the big fella. The place does feel perfect, entirely comfortable. it has a worn-in ambience. It could a lot of people without becoming oppressively loud. It feels entirely comfortable instantly. Like many great things, it’s greatness is elusive but pronounced. they have over 100 taps all of them of great quality. they also have over 800 different bottles. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and super-competent. And the prices are very reasonable for the quality. (I had a Mikeller that I would have paid a king’s ransom to sample.)They also have 5 different beers on cask. What a fantastic experience. I will definitely be back.

We make a special trip to go here every February for the Belgian Beer festival that they hold and it is always an amazing trip. There are so many beers to choose from and the best part is that they allow you to get samples. I haven’t been here on a normal day but it seems that they have an amazing list all year around. The bartenders are nice, informative, and quick, everything you could possibly want from someone behind a bar. It can be hard to find seats, but if you wait long enough, you’ll be able to find a spot. I love this place and can’t wait to get back.

This is my favorite place in the whole world. I make the trip down to Baltimore once a year just for this bar. Great beer selection 120+ on tap last time I was there plus hundreds of bottles. One of the managers is the greatest bar tender I’ve ever met, I just wish he worked there every night... not that the other bartenders aren’t amazing, but he’s one of a kind. The food I did have was great, the tater bowl is amazing and my chourizo quesadilla was perfect. The beer prices are incredibly fair and if you take the water taxi there you get a coupon for a free beer.

One of the best beer bars I’ve ever been to. I practically lived here when I used to live in Baltimore. 1200+ bottles and over 100 rotating taps. I had a De Molen Disputin on tap the other day along with some Saint Bock, Menage a Frog, Crooked Line and other bottles. Great place for beer.

This is a beer nerd’s paradise plain and simple. Tap selection is top notch and changes all the time.

Only knock against this place is the food. Unreal tap and bottle selection highlighting regional craft and import brews. Cellarman Casey Hard’s favorite brewer is Mikkeller so he often has great drafts of his. Go here. It’s a destination always and has many events including the weekly beer social on Tuesday.
