Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon, and the bar was filled up with a diverse clintele watching NFL Ticket. Bottle/Tap line-up is amazing, and vintage beers are also seldom seen in other bars. Beers prices were very reasonable. I too wish this bar was in my neighborhood.

Atmosphere of an old dive bar: darts, plenty of beer signs, cigarrettes, and general cowboy and sports-bar ambiance. Casey was happy to talk beer, new imports, cool random stuff, etc. for a good long while with us even though the place was packed. Thoroughly excellent selection with seemingly unbeatable prices (for six reasonably hard to find, and stellar, beers on tap, our bill was $29.99). A must stop.

Stopped in on a Sunday night after a Ravens game (I did not go, just happened to be in town). Bartender immediately mentions that they may have about 8 drafts that were gone and apologized- now that’s being on top of it. He also made sure my glass was never empty, and they were rather busy. The ambience fits it to the whole Fells Point vibe- historic and rustic neighborhood tavern. Nice rotating tap selection as well as lots of bottles. They even have a vintage cooler with all the Harvest and Old Stock Ale vintages listed by year! Nothing fancy here, just a friendly semi-dive bar with a great selection of beer. Just how I like it.

One of the best. Around 60 or so constantly rotating draft beers, with an ever changing bottle selection featuring 100’s of new beers and classics. Max’s always has top notch Belgian stuff that you will be lucky to find ANYWHERE. Great specials. Max’s rules.

A critical stop on the Baltimore Brew tour. One block from The Wharf Rat - staggering distance past the exterior set for Homicide (my all-time favorite TV show) down at Fells Point. Loud sports bar, average grub. Great prices on, and selection of pints on tap. Lots of Mid-Atlantic regionals, unusual stuff of high quality - Unibroue, Sourthampton, Bear Republic. A bozillion bottles that I didn’t even get to. Food was pub grub, nothing special. Parking was available, but a bit tricky.

Visited Max’s on a Friday night and a Saturday afternoon two weeks later. Both times the bar was crowded, especially for a Saturday afternoon, but the bartenders were great and I never waited more then a few minutes for a beer. Both times I stuck to drat beer and never even looked at the bottle list. The biggest highlight for me was on trip number two finding Peche Mortel on draft, I could of stayed there all day drinking that one. This place is an absolute must for anyone going to Baltimore.

Visited this place on a bright spring Sunday morning. The bartender was very helpful when he saw that I was there to sample the fine ale. Ate a very good burger while there. Wish I could have stayed longer but the wife yanked me out after the 8th beer. This is a must visit place in Baltimore.

Awesome bar. Kinda a dive, but I always dig that. Great tap list (but I was there for American Craft Brewers Week, so it may have been extra good). The bartender definitely knew his stuff and was very cool. Food was good but nothing fantastic, just pub fare. Bonus: saw lots of crackheads on the way in. Definitely an essential stop in Baltimore, and it carries the vibe of the city quite well.
