Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon, and the bar was filled up with a diverse clintele watching NFL Ticket. Bottle/Tap line-up is amazing, and vintage beers are also seldom seen in other bars. Beers prices were very reasonable. I too wish this bar was in my neighborhood.

Well worn ambiance with lots of character. Great beer menu and a knowledgable bartender. Food was nothing special.

Visited to have a few beers while in the area and they do not disappoint. Extensive draft selection with great choices -- main limitation is most likely because of Maryland. Bar service was great -- very prompt and helpful. Pricing is fair for the area and the ambiance is appropriate for a good beer bar.

Interesting crowd on a Friday night. Lots of blue collar and "bro" type people were here - middle-aged union dock-worker/firefighter/retired police guy hitting on out-of-towners next to me.
Draft list was pretty good - about on par with some of the best places in DC. Bottles in fridges look pretty good, but I didnít see a bottle list. It sounds like this place is a huge hit during beer events. Gets pretty packed in the front bar - took a little bit of time to find a nice, not-so-loud spot to order from and enjoy our beers.

Great place. The next best thing to Churchkey in the Baltimore-D.C. area. Tons of taps with all kinds of stuff on. Sample sizes are very cheap here too, with Mikkeller tasters for under $4 - a better deal than Churchkey. Screens all over to watch the World Cup on. Tons of bottles too but I didnít even get to that list. Good service. Definitely a must-hit in Baltimore, in a cool neighbourhood.

Drove up here from College Park, Maryland because it was the top rated place in the state. And yes, they have 140 taps. The beer list looked longer than a sushi menu. This is one of the few places I have failed to try every new beer on tap for me. This was in part because everything was kind of expensive, though. Tasters are priced at around half of what a full pour goes for, and this adds up fast. I had about 13 tastes and a (delicious!) sandwich, and paid about $60. I could not afford to do that 3 more times. Service was solid, very friendly and professional. Cool looking place, pretty spacious, long bar, with a pub-like feel to it. Driving through Baltimore to get to the location was hell. Found free parking in a residential area a few blocks away (had to move the car every 2 hours though). A pretty impressive place overall, but my wallet was crying as I left. Also, driving through Baltimore is just awful.

Been here a few times at the bar and have always had a great time. Two floors though Iíve only sat at the bar on the main floor. Tables around and service is all through the bar. Always been able to snag a seat even when itís a bit busier, though I havenít been around when itís super busy. Service has always been great, bartenders are great at coming by when they see my beer getting low without me needing to get their attention. Lots of varied drafts and happy hour specials on 32 oz beers. Havenít looked at the bottle list but looked like a nice selection from the coolers. Only (very) minor gripe is most beers are served in standard pint glasses. Think they do taster pours though itís not advertised on the list so Iíve never thought to ask. Food is good and ranges from average to great, mostly your normal pub fare. Definitely be back when Iím around, probably my favorite bar in Baltimore.

Visited on a trip to Baltimore. Located close to the waterfront a Baltimore staple. A beer bar that carries one of the largest selection of beers Iíve ever seen, something like 1,300. The tap list itself is off the charts. There is always something to find to drink for any craft beer nerd. The prices were great and in a nice location close to the waterfront. Overall, a place you have to visit at some point to just take the number of beers they have available. The service is always great making it worth the effort as well.

Maxís is one of the best beer bars in the U.S., period. It took me a few visits to get used to the pub style service, but I now embrace it wholeheartedly. The taps are fresh and change often, and they rotate 4 - 6 cask beers through their hand pumps. The staff are super friendly and helpful as well as beer knowledgeable, though the place can get very crowded and make it hard to get prompt service. The food is standard pub fare or you can bring in your own food, from home or another establishment (and there are quite a few within a two-block radius. The atmosphere is super laid back though it can get really packed on the weekends or during Baltimore sporting events, special pub events; Halloween is crazy in Fells Point, and Maxís decorates nicely for the festivities. This is a must-stop if you are in Baltimore.
