a run of the mill Irish type bar which is to say that the place is clean and the food is good and also the behavior is appropriate but not stuffy. there are several different brews and a few craft type bottles. i remember having probably one of the best fish dishes i have ever had from a bar. as one might expect from the folks in Newark there is good value for your money. there is a dining room off to the side. wood paneled with walls of memorabilia. my wife even liked the place, and that ain’t easy.

A good drinking hole. Standard beers on tap. Great food on the menu. Gets livelier during the week and during happy hour then weekends. good place to go for a few beers.

Great Irish Tavern in the University Heights section of Newark, NJ. Good selection of beer, clean lines, several craft beers available at different times - Sam Seasonal, Brooklyn Lager, also imports like Smithwick’s, Harp, Guiness, etc. A great spot to eat good, solid tavern fare meals at reasonable prices.
