I really liked this place. Sunken level, big bar. A sort of upscale feeling (fits the location). They had a above average taplist for McMenamins and great service. A nice place.

Garden-level 23rd Street McMenamins. Funny enough, itís one of the few in the chain that doesnít look like the others because itís fit into the space rather than built around the McMenamins concept. Typical McMenamins beer selection of mostly standards with a few small batch things offered. Cozy interior with with plush furniture, comfortable place for a session but I rarely get out to 21st/23rd.

This is one of my favorite McMenamins. Doesnít score high, but Iím always going back. It doesnít have the best tap selection as others do (just their main icon beers). But i like the environment, with that old hotel lobby feel and the low light makes it kind of cozy. Service is what youíd expect from McMenamins, and food is also what youíd expect. Itís way better than their Tavern over on Thurman, and Blue Moon is cool but always more crowded with the rowdy types. I heard this used to be an old bootleggers bar back during prohibition. Anyway, never too crowded and nice to get that one pint right before I go to bed. (hey, I live 3 blocks away so why not).

Two blocks from the Blue Moon. Small little basement pub without much to look at. These northwest mcmenamins really lack what makes other mcmenamins special. No historic art or decorations or anything else to make this place unique. Very bland.

Visted here in Aug í05. Neat place. Old decor with comfortable booths. Our waitress was polite, the service was solid and the staff overall was real nice. Actually, one of the guys recommended some other non-Mcmenamins places to check out. The beers were pretty good. Nice place to stop in on a hot summer day.

This one is kinda different. More like a greasy spoon diner than the usual McMenamins. Same McMenamins product, same McMenamins waitstaff.

The usual McMenaminís stuff, beer and food wise. Nice enough place with a bar and lots of booths. Nothing thatís going to blow your mind, but if your in the area you can do worse for a beer and grub. I must say, the IPA was one of the better Iíve sampled from McMenaminís.
