90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 adayale (12) Texas | August 11, 2011 This place was a really lucky find for me. I was recommended to go to this place because the nice fellow there at Bearden Beer Market mentioned that it is the best place to get high gravity beers in Tennessee. Due to Tennessee law only liquor stores can carry high gravity beers (aka high ABV) and this place does have a really nice selection considering it is also a large liquor store. Very nice place and I am glad I could add it to rate beer for those in Tennessee that still may not know of this place. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 15/20 lithy (156) Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania | April 2, 2009 Best beer selection in Knoxville, can get a little pricy, as much due to Tennessee laws as anything though. Brent and the staff mostly know their stuff on some of the beers. The wall of scotch constantly tempts me to spend more than I should. | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 nqualls (35) Nashville, Tennessee | January 3, 2009 If you are looking for some decent hard to find beers in Knoxville, this is the place. A good selection of De Dolle and several other Belgians. A huge selection of brewdog, dogfish head and j.w. lees beers. I swing by here when I am in Knoxville to see what is new. | 70 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 pzaring (3) Knoxville, Tennessee | March 28, 2008 Largest selection in Knoxville. Out of some of my favorite hi-gravs but considering distribution situation in Knoxville certainly not their fault. | 54 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 10/20 markwise (157) North of Tampa, Florida | March 25, 2008 Not bad, but I’m from Florida. The guy behind the counter recommneded Aiko Pale Lager as his favorite beer. It was disgusting swill, so he lost a LOT of credibility with me. They had almost no DFH in stock on a Saturday night, but lots of Stone, which we do not have in FL (Muchas Gracias). Best one can do with wacky TN liquor laws. | 58 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 10/20 gsteph (12) knoxville, Tennessee | March 17, 2008 Good selection, probably the best in Knoxville. DFH, De Dolle, Unibroue, Stone, Orkney, and some other bad European stuff. The staff is typical if they see you looking around they will ask if you need help. | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 tnkw01 (4) Knoxville, Tennessee | March 7, 2008 Best selection of high gravity beer in Knoxville. | 54 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 Jmichael (34) Asheville, North Carolina | August 13, 2007 in Tennessee you have to buy beer over 6% in a liqour store, so they do not have much stuff, mostly go for the stone, they don’t even have al that though, its ok | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 nearbeer (163) Knoxville, Tennessee | April 11, 2007| Updated February 9, 2013 For the last 10 years, the largest selection of +6% beers in Knoxville liquor stores, and has improved tremendously in the last year and a half (2012-2013). Friendly and helpful staff. Brent is kind enough to keep all the local ratebeerians updated when new stuff arrives, and for years has been almost a single voice begging the wholesalers to bring mo’ bettuh high gravity beer to the area. They often get some rarer stuff in that isn’t available even in other parts of the country. They also are the only operator in Knoxville who seems to understand the concept of discounting older stock in order to move it on out. | 92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 decaturstevo (102) decatur, Tennessee | August 16, 2006| Updated May 12, 2013 A place that truly tries to keep up with the high gravity market. With the crazy tax laws of our state that is a task. The selection is the best in Knoxville. Friendly staff always willing to help. Very good selection the go to place in Knoxville. |
