UPDATED. Visited for dinner with a group on a Monday night. The food (tapas style) was solid, though expensive. Beer selection was great, as remembered. FYI - I fixed the map issue mentioned by notalush in March 2014 - appears to be correct now. PREVIOUS. Visited after work on a Wednesday. Easy to find right of Stemmons, I was able to find street parking, though they also had valet. Very swanky spot, beautiful, big restaurant with a large bar area and a nice garden patio. Very much a white table cloth type place. Jazz playing, bunch of suits and ties in the crowd. The beer selection is solid, 40 draft, and 1 cask with a nice variety of local, national and import options. Well chosen. There is also a deep bottle selection, with 6 “cellar selections”. Many sours on offer. Food was upscale and expensive. Not entirely my type of place to hang out, but they are doing a great job with an upscale beer experience.

76 = ★★★ (Worth the visit, must for locals, and visitors with time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Highest rating I have given to a place. Perfect scores for ambiance, selection, and food. Food was amazing (brunch). Selection of brews I didn’t think existed in Texas. Even allowed me to do a flight. Long way from the northern suburbs but well worth it!

Food is terrible. On top of bad food it's expensive w/ small portions. The ambiance is pretentious and cold. They do have a good and sometimes great selection of beers that other places don't have.

Really nice atmosphere. Good selection but pretty pricey on a lot of stuff. Good service. Worth a trip.

Yuppie, trendy and posh layout that is quite refreshing for a beer bar. Service is all about the local beer guy Matt, a hero. Great selection, with very cool and unusual bottles. Food is trendy and doesn’t live up to the flowery descriptions, not bad just not as good as it should be. Pricing is on the high side, but appropriate for the place. I really enjoyed it and would happily recommend.

Meddlesome Moth is located on Oak Lawn not too far off the Tom Landry freeway. There is a parking lot behind the vine-covered brick building.

The inside is one large space, with the bar running along the left side, and table seating throughout. There is a patio in the rear too. The decor is dark wood on the walls and floor, and there are 3 large stained glass windows apparently reclaimed from a Hard Rock Cafe, featuring legends of rock ’n roll. Behind the bar is a clean and uniform row of taps, with the names of the beers written on a board about them, and a large framed and illuminated picture of a moth.

The draught selection numbers around 40 with many Texan breweries like Community, Live Oak, Revolver, Lakewood, Peticolas, and Real Ale. Other craft breweries like Prairie, Deschutes and Ballast Point too. Samplers are available, both pre-set and pick your own. The bottled menu exceeds 100, again with many TX breweries like Ranger Creek and other domestic and imported craft beer.

Service for our group was very good. The server was very knowledgeable about the beer menu and attentive throughout our visit.

Food at Meddlesome Moth is eclectic, bordering on weird. The focus is on shared plates which is what we did. Deviled eggs, Duck Wings, Sweet Pea Guacamole and Bacon Lollipops were all tasty.

Overall I really enjoyed my visit here. Luckily we had a reservation and I can see where pretentiousness and hipsterism could creep in, but all in all this is definitely the type of place I would seek out on a visit to Dallas.

This many ratings and no one has commented on the fact that this place is totally showing up wrong on the map? - anyway - quasi-upscale yuppie tapas place - quirky decor, but bordering on "cozy" and "cramped" - very popular, so make sure you make a reservation - service was fairly attentive, but definitely had a hipper than thou attitude - nice draft list that was reasonably priced, but I would have liked more local options - as with most tapas, the prices were a little high, but portions were decent - most of what I had was quite good (especially the steak tartare), but there were one or two misses - I think I prefer Common Table, just because of the more relaxed vibe (despite their higher beer prices), but this is certainly on-par - another quality beer restaurant in Dallas.
