Itís pretty much one of the greatest places on earth if you like Belgian beer. rom standards like Chouffe and Chimay and Gouden Carolus, to really rare stuff that you canít believe An (proprietor) was able to snag a keg of-. The bar is usually deep with beer geeks, and the place smells of vietnamese food (b/c itís a vietnamese restaurant). The two go well together. An is a master barkeep and will be able to recommend your next beer in a heartbeat if you can tell him what you like and donít like. The backup bar guys are pretty good too. Itís a MUST SEE if you come to Richmond.

This is absolutely my favorite place in the world! Fantastic selection, with more than knowledgeable service. Great atmosphere and very supportive of the beer community. A must go!

In town to visit and heard this place was a must go. First off, for a Vietnamese place the beer selection is off the charts as many others have mentioned. Hell for any place it was quite nice. The waiter was probably the best and most fun I have had anywhere. The food was quite nice and the prices and portions made for a very reasonable evening. This is a must go if in Richmond. Just a completely different beer experience than your normal pub/bar setting.

Shocked that I hadnít rated this. First, the food is outstanding Vietnamese food done at at a very good value. You can get anything from a standard, well executed Pho to more sophisticated and unusual offerings. Now for the beer. Oh, the beer. In the early days, it was "just" an awesome list of bottled Belgians. But now they have gone nuts - they still have the incredible bottle selection of Belgians, but they are also now running a bunch of tap lines as well, featuring everything from Belgians to American micros. It used to be Capital Alehouse got all the "rare" kegs in town. Not anymore, they are going to Mekong and Commercial Taphouse instead. The owner knows his stuff and is fanatical about the beer. His staff might not share the knowledge, but they are always willing to track him down if a person has a question. Absolutely a must stop in Richmond these days.

This is an odd yet great beer place! You would never know from the outside from any signage that this little Vietnamese Restaurant has sooo many good beers. Really a great variety of selection of Belgians to American IPAís. An, one of the owners is what makes this place a great place to drink beer... Heís a real beer guy. He will really guide you if you are a rookie... and even if youíre NOT. You really want to sit at the bar to get the full beer experience, otherwise you donít realize how many ales they really have... think its something like 150ish. 12-13 taps of only good beer and the rest in bottles. None of the regular Miller lite or Bud on these taps. And then the food! It really compliments well with the Belgian in particular but also with others. Now if you are looking to get in and out, this is not the place to go... particularly in the evenings. They get pretty packed. Probably could use a minor interior design makeover, but other than that a great unique, enjoyable value!

A hidden gem of a restaurant. Once you find it through word of mouth or facebook, you will go back again and again. Great selection of beer especially Belgians and IPAís and great Asian food to go with it. For the novice try the Allagash white with almost anything on the menu. For the more adventurous try a huge IPA with shrimp paste (itís like having shrimp toast in your and egg noodle soup)
