Just got back from the Mellow Mushroom in Murfreesboro. I am a veteran of Mellow Mushroom Lexingtonís Trivia, (Lexington, KY). I sought out the trivia as a means to spend an evening with my girlfriend after a long day of work. We both appreciate our local Mellow Mushroom establishment. We both feel Mellow Mushroom, hands down, has the most delicious pizza in the world. The dough is to die for! Lately, the Philosopherís Pie has become an obsession for our tastebuds. (During the month of July, purchase of a large pie entitles you to a free, small cheese pizza). -This is pretty awesome!
In the beer realm, Mellow Mushroom Murfreesboro is no exception and lacks not in the beer department. Dogfish Head 60 Minute, local Yazoo favorites and other great craft brews flow from their taps.
But the trivia SUCKS.
The trivia hosts had no music, no enthusiasm and no respect for the game. A scorecard was passed out at the begining of trivia, needless to say, the trivia hosts failed to ask the allotted halftime question or final round of questions. - Using the halftime question as an opporunity to consume a large sandwich, stating, "When I finish this sandwich, we will continue playing trivia."
As we finished our craft beer and Philosopherís Pie and walked out the door, the final question consisted of teams guessing the name of a song the trivia host played two seconds of...from a cell phone!
Probably wonít be back as long as the current lame hosts are at the wheel. Still love the pizza!

Decent food, really cool location, and the $5 sampler of five beers is a great deal for raters.

The staff is easy on the eyes, and suprisingly knowledgeable about the beer. My waitress even knew what number hop project they had on tap! Per usual, the food was delicious. Pretty average as far as a MM goes. But better than most pizza places.

Good food, decent beer selection but no real new finds. Food was good though. Worth going back to.

Iíve been a fan of Mellow Mushroom since first having their pizza way back in the 70ís near the Ga Tech campus.
Their restaurants have steadily gone upscale in design (nouveau hippie?), but the food remains tasty and healthful.
The greek salad is always a favorite of mine, and the mega veggie pizza is also very good. Great sandwiches.
Nothing goes better with pizza than a good beer from the tap, and they have a nice selection.

This is basically like all the others in the chain. They have a hippie bus parked in the middle of the restaurant. I would love to get tanked and pretend to drive it. Beer selection is quite serviceable. Taps from BBC (including the Jefferson reserve), Boulder, Blackstone, Yazoo. . .decent stop. I didnít eat at this location.

the selection is extensive for a restaurant which prides itself on non-traditional pizza. bottles include a few HGís, and itís a good mix. you donít walk in there and look for the closest representation of a craft brew, you actually have to decide how ya feel. i even find myself having to choose a style and then have to narrow it down. the foodís great. i usually chill out on the patio, but only b/c iím not just there for the beer and good live music. the only drawback is the service. itís a great place aside from the idea that if you go there, donít plan on being in and out in less than an hour or 2. iíve been there many times, and had many different servers (both inside and the patio), but i always spend more time there than i wish to. still, the beer is always great.

By far this is the best on tap selection in Murfreesboro. Service at the bar is good. Food is not too bad. Ambiance might be a little too much like a pizza place instead of brew pub. Iím sure this is by design though... stick to the bar area and youíll be fine though. :)

Was here on a Sunday night and damn...a live band on a Sunday night in the Boro! Food is the usual MM menu which is pretty decent. They had 40ish beers listed on tap and 32 listed available in bottles on the menu. Decent selection of Yazoo, plus some Blackstone, Highland, Sweetwater, and Sam Smiths to list a few of the highlights. Our waitress jacked up our food order but was very friendly, knew the seasonal offerings, and got the beer orders right.
