This is far different than any other Mellow Iíve been to over in the SE. Seems upscale / modern / Spartan as compared to the typical hippy granola tree hugging vibe most Iíve been to put on. No complaints here, just seems odd. That said this is a great place with a large tap selection that usually has a couple interesting offerings. It seems the food here, so far, is even better than the locations Iím used to. I mean the Italian Hoagie I had was fantastic. The staff was friendly and efficient and helpful too. If the parking wasnít such a bitch right here at ASU I would dine and drink here far more often. Canít wait till the Ahwatukee one opens.

Had dinner and some beers here one night. Typical looking pizza place right in downtown Tempe. Good service, the server really knew his beer and made some great suggestions. Good beer selection including some tasty local beers. Pizza was really good, seemed like fresh, quality ingredients. Value was about average for food and beer. This is a cool place, really good pizza and good beer selection.

Mellow Mushrooms usually have unique decors but this one looked pretty nondescript by their standards. What wasnít nondescript was the beer list which had a ton of locals and even a lost abbey on tap. The Bartender couldnít be friendier helping me find something I havenít had before and making sure my pie was just how I like it. The prices at mellow mushrooms can be hit or miss and his ne was on the high side. Still for a place located on a college campus youíd be hard pressed to find a better beer list or friendlier personnel.

Their specialty is the infamous "not particularly flavorful extra-wide grease pies" of which youíll see college students by the truckloads choking down at tables and booths. Still, this is a fun eatery to visit if youíre bored on Mill and have money to burn. I like this place; the tap selection is exceptional and the space is utilized in such a way it actually makes me want to come back and dine again, even if solely on dough and beer. Obviously it has its flaws, but with crisp Jacksons in my pocket and an hour to kill, I can see myself sitting at the bar and having a good time, even if for a brief moment.

Solid selection of taps with a few hard to find locals. Gotta love their pizza, but the bill can hurt. Welcome to Mill Ave.
