92 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 19/20 tcane7 (30) Pennsylvania | April 27, 2013 Easily one of my favorite bars in Philly. Off the beaten path in Fishtown/Kensington. Always amazing beer on tap and cask. Food is awesome the spaghetti and lentil meatball sandwich is one of my favorites (when in rotation). Beer garden in the summer is also fantastic. Just wish it was in my neighborhood. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 BiddleBrau (76) Fort Washington, Pennsylvania | April 18, 2013 How do you describe the location but it’s certainly hanging out on it’s on in NE Philly. Cool bar and cool vibe. 10 taps and a bottle list I did not see. Food solid and nice easy atmosphere. Beer garden was not open but I’d welcome having a place like this around the corner. | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 fluffheady (46) Chicago, Illinois | April 16, 2013 I liked this place a lot. We were visting from chicago, and they had Half Acre (a local chicago phenom) on draft. Apparently Philly is the only other city where it is available. because the owner is originally from here. They don’t have that many taps, but they are all very carefully selected. The second night we were there, there was a food truck in the beer garden. The location is a little out of the fray and lots of locals hang out here. I will definitely be back here multiple times every time I’m in Philly. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 jeremytoni (139) Swedesboro, New Jersey | December 2, 2012 Decent selection of draft beers, backed up with a good bottle list. Friendly quick service with some pretty good food. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 kimjongill (13) , | November 18, 2012 Nice Ambiance. Very good service. Only 8 taps with 2 additional pumps, but the choices are usually excellent to partially make up for this, and the bottle list is fantastic. Great food but low on selection. Sometimes can be a bit pricey, but not bad for the city. I’ve done takeout bottles. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 orangesol (73) Pennsylvania | August 6, 2012 Stopped into Memphis Taproom for brunch for the first time last weekend. A little smaller than I was expecting it to be but no big deal. Vibe was pretty good. Lots of people sitting around having breakfast and enjoying themselves. I really wanted to check out the beer garden but it wasn’t open yet, I will check it out next time for sure.
Once we were seated in the back dining room we promptly ordered some breakfast and a few beers. I got the Red Rooster, it is essentially the typical breakfast stepped up a notch, and it was awesome. I had two beers while I was there, a Ballast Point Bourbon Barrel Sea Monster on cask and a Round Guys Berliner Weiss. The Ballast point was awesome, the round guys....not so much. I took a look at the bottle list and it was pretty impressive, also pretty expensive. Service was really good. Our server came to check on us multiple times throughout the meal, offering refills and getting us new beers. She even offered to replace my beer when it wasn’t up to par but I decided to suffer through it.
Overall a really awesome bar that I will definitely return to in the future. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 GMCC2181 (66) Newark , Delaware | July 15, 2012 Stopped in on a slow rainy Sat morning. Definetly a cool local place for the neighborhood to hang. 8 or so taps with a cask available. Close to a hundred bottles on the list. Small bar holds 15-20 seats with a small dining room in the back. Clean nice atmosphere. They had a nice brunch menu, but I end up getting a burger and fries which was good. I thought prices were reasonable for the city. Bartender was friendly and knowlegable. Only a couple blocks off I-95, so pretty easy to get to. (Beer garden looked cool but it was raining so no one was hanging in there)... I hope to make it back! | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 cpetrone84 (39) Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | June 7, 2012 Great spot to purchase lambics, has a nice selection of beers on tap and in bottles. The manager seemed a hint rude and a touch pedantic. Small spot, food looked good but did not try. Wasn’t too crowded. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 17/20 lachrymalisis (14) Pennsylvania | March 20, 2012| Updated March 2, 2013 Good experience. Draft selections left a bit to be desired on this trip, but a consistently great bottle menu. I found a bottle of Cuvee du 7eme and enjoyed it with my chicken confit, which was good, but a bit soggy. This is uncharacteristic, as Ive been many times and find the food to be exceptional.
Nice casual atmosphere, laid back crowd, and attentive yet down to earth service.
Not every week, but I’ll be back when I’m in the area. | 78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 jredmond (161) Manhattan, New York | February 19, 2012| Updated March 2, 2013 Visited this place during Philly Beer week 2011 - can’t remember for which event though. Nice bar, however I’ll need to return for a proper review as the place was super crowded. |
