Great place to grab local area beers in Washington from all around Maryland, D.C. and Virginia. They also feature some great imported gems from Firestone Walker or others from time to time - their website is kept pretty up to date. Buck a shuck oysters on Tuesdays (I think) are awesome. Go after 10 if you can as they offer happy hour priced pints as they clean their lines every night. One of D.Cís best.

Stopped in here with Travlr for a few pours. Pretty dark place with a long bar that dominates the ground floor. Over 20 taps that almost entirely only featured beers from the mid-atlantic Good variety of options, including some exclusives that were made specifically for the bar. Power raters may struggle to find new things on the bottle list. The foodís apparently very good. Solid, attentive service. Overall, a great spot to drink local beer.

Nice restaurant with a focus on beer. Basement bar is open at certain times and the booths have a tap system where you can pick a beer to self serve. Very nice draft list with a good amount of local beers. Bottle list is a bit limited but not too shabby. Food is great out of everything Iíve had. Service has always been friendly and attentive, bartenders are great at keeping an eye on empty glasses. Only been a few times, coming from Orange line in Falls Church takes some time but always love visiting when Iím around that area.

Solid bar in DC not far from a Metro stop. Upstairs was mostly tables for dining and a central bar; fairly quiet. Downstairs was where the action was with a much larger crowd that was louder and enjoying the quality taps. Service was quick and attentive despite the large gathering around the bar. Selection was good and diverse including Bourbon County Stout and Barleywine on tap the day I was in. Didnít try any food, but there was certainly a cheeseburger aroma throughout the place. Iíll definitely go back.

Iím not sure why this place is rated so highly. I did not notice any special beer selections that I couldnít get anywhere else nearby, nor did the place impress me with the service or catering toward a more sophisticated taste... Great clientele, staff is kind of pleasant, though not a place Iíd return to.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon during their Oktoberfest festival. Very crowded and noisy because of this so hard to judge what itís normally like. Certainly some very interesting local brews available on draft in 4oz pours. Service was as good as it could be given the number of people there. Would go back at a quieter time.

Iím crazy-fond of this place. Itís not exactly handsomely designed, but oh well. The key stuff: Super list. Good range of styles, lots of stuff you wonít see anywhere else -- not even at ChurchKey -- and itís as good as it gets at offering the best of DC/MD/VA breweries. (If I had one complaint itís that they underplay IPAs.) Very, very knowledgeable staff. Comfortable bar, comfortable community table. (Only places to sit if youíre just drinking, which is a bit of a problem.) Even the dark basement bar is kinda comfy. Along with ChurchKey, one of those places I know I can go and try something Iíve never heard of and feel confident itíll work out. Food is improved of late too. My favorite spot in the city.
