Fine little bar for a stop while you shop. Itís basically a market stall in the indoor market area at the back of the Arndale Shopping Centre. Thereís plenty of other stalls around this one as well as shoppers passing between the seating area and the bar whilst you drink. As a consequence of its location it is a day place only so you get moved on when the centre closes. It also sells a good range of bottled beers and ales from the UK and abroad. Rotates its ales all the time and always has a Boggard Hole Clough ale available given that it is run by the same group. Gift packs are available here too.

A great little bar with five hand pumps and three keg taps at the edge of the shopping centre maze that is Manchesterís Arndale Centre.
The Microbar shares tables and chairs with the more usual type of market cafť in a chilly space by the window on the margins of the Arndale Centreís market area Ė very handy for someone like me who has a pathological aversion to shopping malls.
Itís a cross between a bar and a shop so you can browse the bottle selection or just sit awhile, watch the world go by and recharge the batteries. Iíd just spent a few happy hours in the excellent Peopleís History Museum down by the river (www.phm.org.uk/) so I decided to do the latter. There were three cask ales from Boggart (the Microbar is a Boggart outlet), a guest (Pictish Nugget) and a perry as well as three keg beers. I chose the Boggart Rum Porter, which was delicious and did the trick nicely. The bottle selection isnít huge but itís quite eclectic. There are offerings from fairly close by (for example Hornbeam, Dunham Massey and Acorn), others such as Brodies from farther afield in the UK and standard continental Europeans like Erdinger, Duvel, Liefmans, Lindemans and Floris.
Incidentally, thereís a specialist cheese stall next door, the Queen Brie (www.thequeenbrie.co.uk/), where I bought a great selection of cheeses from Lancashire and Cheshire at very reasonable prices. Cheese and beer complement each other so beautifully and, had I not been planning to eat dinner later, Iíd have been very tempted by the three cheese platter and a Boggartís beer for £5.50.

Lovely little pub in the HUUUUGE shoppingcenter.. Being a part of the shoppingcenter the openinghours is not what you would expect from a pub, but follows the normal opening hours of the center. Friendly staff, and at most times the beers are in a good condition. They have a nice bottle selection as well.
In 2013 they did their first beerfestival with approx 25 beers on.

To avoid getting lost in the gigantic Arndale shopping centre it is best to head straight to the number 49 in High Street where the bar is located just inside the entrance with a flower shop near by. MicroBar is well worth a visit, it is not only a little cask ale pub, but also a bottle shop with good selection of, hard-to-find, British beers and continental beers. The bar is an outlet for the Boggart brewery and there were three of them on cask and even a few more on bottles. Friendly service offering samples of their cask ales. Decent price level (visited, 05.07.2012).

Quite an insane idea to stick this oasis of quality beer in the middle of a food court, but it works wonderfully. Beer range isnít bad at all, and you can buy a couple of bottles to take home.

Strange little place with a nice selection of beers. Found a nice selection of bottle to take home here and also a nice beer to enjoy with my food from one of the other stalls nearby. Strange, but brilliant. Well worth a visit!

Being a part of the shoppingcenter the openinghours is not what you would expect from a pub, but follows the normal opening hours of the center. Friendly staff, and at most times the beers are in a good condition. But add that something like this is a dlight to find in a shopping centre and even better its often got some great Brodies beers on. I really like this place

Worth the search to get to this place. Itís a mini shop & bar in one. A great selection of local ales together with lots of good stuff particularly from USA and Belgium. A number of bottled beers are cooled and available to drink at the bar. They had a Kolsch on tap!
