Multiple visits. Walk-up bar, nowhere to sit, but tons of beers on and usually a brewery cat or two nuzzling up on you. Overall a great experience, they will let you try anything they have on tap, and given a few days notice can fill up kegs of whatever you want for a cheap price. Mix your own 6 right in the tasting room too, and definitely the local spot for growler fills. A must-stop when Iím in Syracuse!

A little hard to get to but I really enjoyed my visit here. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, they made our tasting informative and fun. There isnít much to their tasting room but had a couple of friendly cats. Would definitely go back.

Fantastic place to go and sample some brew. Very nice staff that know their beer! Never done the tour but have heard it is rather good. Really like the small size and personality of the place. Definitely a must visit!

Visited on a quiet Friday night before BCTC in July, our group of four was welcomed warmly by the servers with several samples and smiles. Seven of their own were on tap, all in great shape and interesting. No food being served. Itís a basic room with a bar and various store items for sale like t-shirts and bottles and openers. Two resident cats were sleeping in various locations about the place, one in a basket, one jumped up on a stack of 12-pack boxes. Service was friendly and informative. Good brewery to visit, surprisingly not too busy before the Cooperstownís beer festival that weekend.

The tasting room here is hit or miss at any given time. Here are the constants: 7 free samples per visit, servers who know what they are doing, phenonenal beer. On some days, the servers are more interested in chatting up the regulars than handing out samples. Once you can catch they eye of one of the servers they are usually pretty good, but I have gone thirsty more than once. They do a great job filling growlers and giving you information about the beer when you ask. When itís empty (lately not likely) itís a great place to spend an hour or so and walk out with lots of good beer for relatively cheap.

Itís a nice place - seems out of the way but it really is not, only a couple minutes from the other beer hot spots in Syracuse. Didnít take the tour. Tasting room and gift shop is nice: servers are really friendly and want to give you a lot of beer for free - seriously, they donít ever stop asking if you want samples. Take advantage. Growler fills available on all the beers on for sample as well as about 5 others. It gets busy but they handle the crowds very well. You can buy singles, cases, bombers, clothing, growlers and growler holders, glassware. The only qualm I have with this place: letting three coats roam the tasting room (getting up on the countertops, darting between the tap handles and your sample glass, basically walking wherever they want) is at least strange if not downright unsanitary. Personally I donít know how they get away with it - I guess it doesnít seem to bother most people (they are friendly cats) but...it just seems weird to me, I donít know. That said, a really fun place and a must visit in Syracuse.

I visited the brewery tasting room on a Saturday afternoon. There were quite a few people there. They had seven beers that you could sample for free, and a total of twelve that you could purchase. They didnít cut anyone off, so they were generous. The staff was very nice and helpful, and they seemed to know their beer rather well. The beer was excellent, especially the Double IPA. They sold six-packs, 12-packs, and cases (which you could mix), four packs of their Belgium-styled ales, 22-ounce bottles for three brands, growlers, and kegs. The tasting room is really nothing to look at, and there wasnít anywhere to sit down (our driver was a pregnant lady), but that would be the only negative with Middle Ages. Definitely worth the trip if you are anywhere in the Syracuse area.

Doesnít look like much from the outside. There really isnít even a parking lot, just some loading docks and gravel. But inside its a little store and a tasting bar. The employees were really generous with the samples and nice to talk to. If youíre allergic to cats, you might want to stay outside. There were three cats that kinda owned the place.
