This plce looks like the beginning of the regentrifciation of downtown Poughkeepsie. Lots of brick in the interior and low ceilings and candles gives this place an intimate vibe. Of course intimate can can also mean small so get their early because it was fairly crowded when I arrived. They had 6 of their own on tap with the Scotch ale and the stout the clear winners as well as gastropub type menu. The food wasnít cheap but it was certainly tasty and I also enjoyed the hot dog with the pretzel bun. (And by pretzel bun I mean they made a bun out of a pretzel.) If I lived in the area I would also stop by as well.

I stopped here this past Sunday after visiting the Tuthilltown Distillery. It was a wise choice. This brewpub is recently opened and the building and space are really well done. The decor is simply beautiful...all stone...brick...wood beams...nice lighting...and a gorgeous wraparound bar. There were about 6 beers plus a couple of guest taps (Peekskill & Rushing Duck). I had a couple of flights and tried all of them. I really enjoyed the Mill House beers. They are doing quite well with them for a recent startup. Althtough there is still room for improvement or growth...again...very nice initial effort! I canít finish the review without mentioning the food though...it was extremely good. They make their own sausages...4 or 5 different kinds...plus a fantastic house made hot dog which I had...wood fired pizzas too. I definitely recommend a visit here. If I lived closer Iíd frequent this place often.
