Heh - yeah, calling this a brewpub is a stretch, but sure, they brew it there and serve it there, so why not? Really, itís the bar in the Racebook section of the casino. Like some other raters, it took me awhile to figure that out. Whatever. As a place, this is no different than your typical bar in a casino, serving whatever to gamblers. On the plus side, place a bet, lose, free beer! Eh.

I was at the Mohegan Sun for a conference so I figured Iíd check out "The Brewpub". After wandering around for 30 minutes trying to find it I finally figured out itís tucked inside the Sports Book with no signs to indicate where it is. Very small, smoky bar. They had none of their own beer available due to construction next door but offered a couple guest taps. Nothing spectacular. Bartender was very inattentaive.

My rating of this place has nothing to do with the actual casino which I think is great. There is an actual physical brewpub at Mohegan Sun believe it or not and that is what my scores are based on. It is stuffed into the sports betting area in a corner and is actually called The Brewpub. If you look up above the bar, youíll see two storage tanks that are probably there for show. The ambiance is that of a bunch of depressing old men sitting and watching a sporting event they have some money on.
On tap are generally 3 beers of their own and a couple of marcos. When I was there, they had the Thunder Moon, Mohegan Lager and Sachem Ale on tap. Thunder Moon is basicaly a boring copper colored basic pale ale, Mohegan lager tastes an amber ale a first time homebrewer might attempt to make from a kit and Sachem Ale is an average tasting gold ale. It is worth noting that the drinks given out to me at the Brewpub were all comp drinks, but it was not worth the experience. If you go there, go to gamble and hit some of the other bars. There are a few bars there that have a decent selection of drinks and most of them stock some or all of the Mohegan Sun beers if you feel really compelled to increase your ratings. Donít go to Mohegan Sun for the brewpub. It is definitely an afterthought.

I think itís worth mentioning, as it is a place where they brew their own beer, so you might as well tell potential customers about it. True, itís not worth going out of your way for, but you might as well include it if you are going to have an accurate and comprehensive database. The bartenders were friendly and gave me my beer for free, seemed like just because I was nice and talked with them. Itís not really a brewpub, though, as Casey mentions, just a bar in a racing room.

Again, If it were up to me, this wouldnt even be on here. This is a regular bar counter with their 3 beers on tap inside of the horse-racing area of the Mohegan Sun. You can see some brewing equipment through a window. Otherwise, this place is smokey and full of gamblers. Mohegan is a great place to go, but to go out of your way for solely the beer/brewery pub is not a good idea. Again, this place isnít even worth being mentioned on the site.
