Popped by Mondo Vino on a recent visit to Denver (Jun ’12). Not the biggest selection in the world but lots of interesting offerings from Colorado craft brewers and further afield (Nogne, Mikkeller, various Belgian/German). All beers are in a series of large fridge cabinets along the back wall. The service was first rate. I was offered help immediately upon browsing the first fridge and I then asked for some reccomendations for eats and drinks in the area. I was pointed to Meade Station just a few doors up and the server offered to hold my beer in a fridge for me whilst I ate. We returned an hour later and I had another browse and again was helped immediately. This time a different server and he gave us more reccomendations for restaurants downtown and took the time to google them for specific addresses etc. First rate service, the guys knew their beer, highly reccomended!

updated for 2012. after years of infrequent visits due to high prices and somewhat common selection, Mondo Vino is now solidly the best beer selection in Denver/Boulder, and I try to make it in at least once a week. with a high number of imports not seen elsewhere in town, and focus on quality and the new, strange and obscure, they are separating themselves from the rest of the bottle shops in the area. they of course still have a lot of the usually big American beers and a good local selection, but it’s the imports that make the difference: quite a few Shelton Brothers bottles not seen elsewhere, and at the moment they are the only Colorado store known to have the amazing Moa Pale Ale. simply put, this is the #1 recommended bottle shop for Denver visitors, no doubt.

Mostly a wine store, but a very well-chosen beer selection. A number of singles and bombers I couldn’t locate at other stores and the prices seemed very reasonable and lower on a lot of items I had seen elsewhere. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Much better than Highland Wine and Liquor in the same neighborhood.

very nice wine store with a wall full of beer coolers - mainly catering to craft and imports. had some nice bottles that tend to sell out quickly elsewhere. had some crooked stave on sale. prices tend to be a bit higher, but you can get some deals. guys know their beer. worth a stop if you go to Hops and Pie around the bend...

Mondo Vino is the perfect beer and wine store to have in your neighborhood: friendly, knowledgeable, and with a substantial selection of goodness. They generally have one of the better selections in town, especially for their size. The best part is the staff, however. I went in looking for a Berliner Weisse a few months back, and was unable to locate one anywhere in CO. They took down my name and shot me an email when they got one in a couple months later! Nice!

Wine store with a good beer selction aswell. Back walll has a long line of frigdes with beer, offcourse a good part of these are macro lagers, but also a fine selection of belgians, danish, norwegian imports. Many american micros like Stone, Russian River, Lost abbey etc. Helpfull service giving advice and pointing me to some fine beers i proberly would had passed else.

Made a nice stop in here, found some really good stuff. Nice belgian import section and tons of american craft brews. lots of fridge space. Lots of singles and six packs. A bonus was we spent more then 100 bucks and the casher just knocked off 10% of the bill. Really liked that feature of the store. Sure it was a bit more expensive but when you get service like that it is sure a bonus.

Upscale wine/beer store. Nice selection, great service. Wish they sold more singles.

Last stop today. Expensive. they are proud of their store and you p[ay for it to buy something there. Then again , they help you so that you get a great beer. So I consider it worth the price. I will pay up for service. Twin Peaks has 0 service. these guys are a 9. So if the brew costs me 10% more it’s worth it for the education. I will be back.
