updated for 2012. after years of infrequent visits due to high prices and somewhat common selection, Mondo Vino is now solidly the best beer selection in Denver/Boulder, and I try to make it in at least once a week. with a high number of imports not seen elsewhere in town, and focus on quality and the new, strange and obscure, they are separating themselves from the rest of the bottle shops in the area. they of course still have a lot of the usually big American beers and a good local selection, but itís the imports that make the difference: quite a few Shelton Brothers bottles not seen elsewhere, and at the moment they are the only Colorado store known to have the amazing Moa Pale Ale. simply put, this is the #1 recommended bottle shop for Denver visitors, no doubt.

nicely done store. nice wooden interior, just about all te beer stored in coolers, and a pretty good selection with some obscure beers I didnít see in other stores. modest in size. prices seem to be on par with other shops. service was really friendly and helpful too. definitely worth a stop.

Beautiful store in a trendy part of town. Great helpful service, but not the biggest selection. What they did have was good though, although all the pricier and rarer bombers.

Popped by Mondo Vino on a recent visit to Denver (Jun í12). Not the biggest selection in the world but lots of interesting offerings from Colorado craft brewers and further afield (Nogne, Mikkeller, various Belgian/German). All beers are in a series of large fridge cabinets along the back wall. The service was first rate. I was offered help immediately upon browsing the first fridge and I then asked for some reccomendations for eats and drinks in the area. I was pointed to Meade Station just a few doors up and the server offered to hold my beer in a fridge for me whilst I ate. We returned an hour later and I had another browse and again was helped immediately. This time a different server and he gave us more reccomendations for restaurants downtown and took the time to google them for specific addresses etc. First rate service, the guys knew their beer, highly reccomended!

This place is typical of many CO bottle shops in that seem to focus more on rarities and bombers and think nothing of creating a pick 6 section where you can sample locals without having to pay the sometimes ridiculous prices for some of the locally produced bombers. I do like the wine store vibe in that everything seems clean and fresh although the bottle caps with the prices inside seemed a little precious to me. Service was pretty solid in that I was asked a couple of times if I needed help whilst clearly looking at beer which is a good sign. I also liked that they had some reserved parking spots near the store. And of course the best part was they had about a case of Pliny the Elder bottles which was awesome. They have a lot of interesting stuff and itís all refrigerated but not having the pick 6 section keeps it from true greatness.

I enjoyed my visits here. The selection is pretty extensive, focusing on Coloradoan beers. It has a sophisticated feel, but the prices seemed to be close to others in the area. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the beer.

Stopped in after Hops and Pie. Quite a nice store with a pretty good selection. Perhaps a little slim in certain areas. Definitely a wide variety of Colorado locals. Prices seemed pretty high, at least compared to what i am used to at home.

Upscale wine/beer store. Nice selection, great service. Wish they sold more singles.

I was really surprised by this place. Not the hugest beer selection but the beers are chosen quite well. I picked up a Dogfish Head Fort and Theobrama. They had plenty of The Abyss and a couple of other brews that you canít always find elsewhere.

Quite a nice store, in a quaint little neighborhood in NW Denver - one wall of coolers dedicated to beer, about 3/4 of which are craft products - a nice selection of Colorado brews, as well as California (RR, PP) and Pac NW brews - a small but well-selected cooler of imports - welcoming staff - relatively reasonable prices - definitely worth a stop for the beer hunter in Denver.
