Fairly nice place with good selection of their own blends and lots of De Molen. A word of warning concerning quality: when we visited we were served a Rye IPA that was bottled more than 1.5 years earlier. When we pointed this out, they were aware of this... You have to wonder why they still sell it.

This is the place where the Monk’s Cafe beers are brewed and there’s usually something new on offer here. The list of guest beers is good, as is the bottled range, but as with the other Monk’s places prices can be a bit steep.

Nice place close to my hotel. Great selection of beer, easy to browse through the bottle selection in the fridge and an impressive selection from tap. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, quite crowdie but never too bad. Great food. Prices as expected in Stockholm, rare stuff is expensive. A must visit place.

Brewpub a bit off-center, but within walking distance. Visited during the weekend, so there were people, but it never really got that cramped. Has a very good selection of bottles, and of course, their own brewed beers. Didn’t try the food. The service was good and knowledgeable. Overall a really nice place.

Visited this place twice on a weekend, not that crowded even if it was quite late in the evening. Huge selection of bottles behind the counter, well visible from the tables even. Friendly staff, knows what they are selling. Well worth a visit.

Visited September 2012.

This was the first stop once getting into Sweden. It was dumping rain and even though our hotel (which was very IKEA-like) was about a block away we ended up walking a couple circles around the place before finding it. We got to meet Danko there which was nice. He gave us a tour of the brewery in the back. It’s a very small setup crammed into the back of an office but they make decent beer on that system. If you want to do a flight of something the bartender will pick which ones you get to try, which was an interesting touch. Prices were very high but that’s what you get for being socialist. The bottle list is strong to very strong, the fries were OK, and over all it’s a fun place to hang out.

Calm atmosphere. So-so staff. Great selection of their own beers and beers from several other well known breweries. A must visit even if it’s no place I’d spend an entire evening.

A pleasant evening sampling the Monks Cafe beers amongst others. The sampling sticks are a good way to try the more odinary beers. The bottle selection is very good and I was sorry we did not have time to return here to try some more of the rare (but very expensive) beers. Food was very good if not quite in the fine dining bracket of its sibling in Gamla Stan. Cool place - hope to return.

An odd place, this. Glancing through the other reviews, it seems people either love it or are a bit ambivalent. I fell into the latter category, despite (or perhaps because of) having been looking forward to visiting ever since they invited me to be a friend on Facebook! You enter on the corner and there’s the brewery and a tasting room behind a glass wall near the door; then there’s the shop (which didn’t look very well stocked), a long bar and a small area with tables at the back. There was nowhere to perch so I ordered my drink and went to sit in the tasting room. The whole place was strangely lacking in atmosphere and the service was a bit offhand. The beer list was good though – three of their own beers on tap, several De Molens and lots and lots of bottles. I’ll give it another try when I’m next in Stockholm – perhaps I just caught it on a bad evening. (Visited 1 March 2013).
